Both- Lol is my SOTD today and is going on my display shelf! It'll be displayed more than used though.
I have spent some downtime at work prowling Yahoo Japan. I am trying to find one of the Japanese made Valet copies that inspired the production of the feather blades for same. I did not find what I was after, but I did find this beauty, I apologize if it has been shown before; Shiseido DE Razor Is this a copy of another razor, or an original design? I really like it, and the price is good... if it wasn't on YJP. For those of you who are not familiar, Yahoo Japan is pretty much eBay for Japan. Unfortunately, sellers will not ship (never, under any circumstances) or sell to non Japanese residents. So you have to go through a buying service. So you have to pay a percentage to the buying service, and they bid and hopefully win your item. The seller ships to a Japan based middleman. Who then ships to a second USA based middleman. Who then ships to you. So depending which service you use, you pay several fees, plus double or triple shipping. This razor is 3000¥, or roughly 30usd. It could be as much as 80 after paying all the people to get it to you. Most services have fee scales, so the more you spend, the less of a percentage you are paying. Often they will hold your stuff in Japan until you have enough to justify shipping. So if you want one thing... you really have to want it! I used to collect toys, especially Japanese ones, and would usually spend in the $1000 range to make any kind of economic sense. Not that collecting is an especially solid fiscal plan, but there you go. The upside, is you can get stuff you have never seen on eBay, or stuff you see on eBay for radically cheaper.
ATT Slant is here !!! Apologies in advance as I only have a phone camera. The ATT slant looks amazing. In terms of fit and finish, it is as billed - fantastic! It is a twist slant producing uneven blade exposure with a very slight tilt (3 degrees). I have not shaved with it yet. Here are some pics. Will review in full once I have a few shaves under my belt and will compare to RRKS:
