Nice to see around again, great pics as always Jake, I love the unusual razors you have, and always in stunning condition. Just sit watchin TV lol, 3 TV super speeds all in great condition 1st pic USA TV superspeed in center with Brit TV superspeeds either side, the Brits look stunning with there Rhodium plated handles 2nd pic shows the 2 Brits together, the one on the right could do with a quick clean but it is my main razor. Very smooth shave with this, I would class it as Mild+
They are not mine, (I wish they was lol) I was just quoting the original post by Jake. I believe they are Emir (Vintage German razors).
A great pic of a great razor...my favorite angle... Oh My...another creation by the great August Scheuber
Hmm seems gary beat me to the Type -A photo here is mine anyway with original box and it need a bit of a polish. Gillette ABC Silver plated set. unfortunately Im not a massive old type fan but I just love how good this razor looks, and will probably never part with it.
Yours is a bit earlier on the production. Mine is Serial #106 and if I am correct yours is in the 50's #53 maybe?
#37 is the serial number on mine. I really dont use it much these days but I have it in a small display cabinet with my 1936 OC Gillette USA Aristocrat, the ABC set, USA TV superspeed, and a cased Fatboy. along with some NOS vintage brushes/soaps.
Wow, I missed by a bit, but there were not a lot made in the first production round so any A series is a rare bird indeed.
Maybe the greatest razor design of all time....by the great August Scheuber...a little simple perfection... On the subject of travel razors...I have one of these and this kit will disappear in my vest pocket...
Gillette Slim, with the unusual German set/case, it has 4 panels that just slide do to reveal the razor, simple yet cool L-2 date code which makes it 1966 2nd Quarter
