Apple pie without cheese is like a kiss without a squeeze.

Peanut butter sandwiches with cheese, or doritos is very good too.

Thats because Doritos are already cheese flavored. The rest, EEW.

But chocolate covered pretzels sound good. I mean cheese and ice cream doesnt sound so horrible because its dairy and dairy, but I think I'll just add some vanilla extract when I'm roasting that bread in butter.

    Hey Guido,

I love the cheese on apple pie. When my wife bakes me a pie I invariably put a piece of cheese on top and nuke the whole thing. Sometimes I finish it off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream other times I just eat it with the cheese.

No decent apple pie slice goes without a piece of cheese melted on top.

O.K. I'm game. Next time I go the store I'll pick up some vanilla ice cream and grilled cheese fixin's. Heck, when I was a kid I used to like chocolate ice cream with potato chips. :happy013

You know it does sound odd Rolls, but I bet it would taste great.

I'd have a defibrillator at the ready. :D

Finally, after literally months of putting this off, I have given this a try....

    two words:

    They're Grrrreat!

truly a surprising combination of tastes, textures, and temperatures.
the juxtaposition really plays a trick on your mind as the tastes blend to give your taste-buds a surprise attack of congruence.

okay, enough trying to use non-diminutive words....
so, word of caution: this is incredibly good. It doesn't seem like it should work, but it does.
    give it a try

I had never noticed this thread. I will have to try to remember that when I go shopping this next weekend.

I haven't tried it, yet. But, I now better understand its legend.

I'll make it special. I'm thinking...
Häagen-Dazs Vanilla ice cream (why eat bad ice cream?)
Real White Bread (something that comes as an unsliced loaf...)
Jarlsberg cheese (a jack, colby-jack... hmm... not sure here)
Real Butter (again, eat the good stuff, or none at all)

    Any ideas?

    go for it!
you'll definitely be in an elite group of <5 (on TSD, anyway) if you do :D
I've tried it with cheddar, both pre-sliced, and the block kind; american pre-sliced; and grated 2% cheddar.
the 2% was only slightly better than the american, with the block kind winning for me - probably because it was extra-sharp :D
    haven't tried any other cheeses

    Ok... This just sounds weird.

along with the cheese on apple pie.

But that has never stopped me from trying things.
One question... What is the best type of cheese to put on the apple pie? Any yellow cheese?

Surely there are more of us than just <5.

In regards to the type of cheese, I think I have tried cheddar and "American" yucky cheese-style processed waste. Both were good (even the American cheese-style processed orange thingies)
