Hello Gilly and welcome! You have already received some great advice from the knowledgable folks here as you get started on your traditional shaving journey. Your father-in-law's vintage razor is a beauty!
Also these folks have pretty reasonable shipping rates to Canada..http://connaughtshaving.com/index.html
Hi Gilly, and a big welcome to The Shave Den! It is good to have you here. I think you will find that this is the friendliest forum around. The folks here are awesome and super helpful. It looks like you are well equipped. The Merkurs are fine razors and can deliver some really good shaves. They will last a lifetime. Omega brushes garner a lot of respect, and with good reason - they work well. The same goes for the Proraso soap. And you have already scored a vintage razor? Dude, right on! I second VedderLG's recommendation to watch Mantic's videos. They are very helpful and complement what is found on this site. GDCarrington's 30-day rule is good advice indeed, and aligns with what you will see on the videos. If you ever want to try a blade sampler pack, The Shave Den shop sampler pack has 12 different blade types for only $11.99. Happy Shaving!!
