Glad to finally be a part of this forum. I’ve been lurking for a couple years, and I now would like to join in some of the threads as my RAD has increased. Looking forward to sharing what I’ve learned and soaking up even more knowledge for what traditional shaving offers. I prefer aggressive razors. My favorites are vintage Gillette's but I also enjoy GEM’s and some current production models as well, particularly my Merkur 15C (although it’s been around for a while and is obviously based on the Gillette Old Type). Welcome! I have been here a short time but these guys will only increase your RAD. Great to have you.
Welcome to TSD @Droo78! Best reason to sign up I've heard. Now you can interact with folks. Thanks for bringing your experience to our crew. This is your own personal thread here. Feel free to ask questions. Plenty of friendly knowledgeable folks around to offer opinions, advice, even actual information. Sounds like you've dabbled enough to know some of your preferences. Any particular favorite vintage Gillette? How about soaps, brushes, & post shave products? And how's about The ATL? I lived OTP in Snellville for a couple decades, Woodstock and off Confederate Avenue for a short while. Great town for music & sports.
Thank you @RyX I've been OTP since moving here in 2005; Lawrenceville, Alpharetta, Vinings and Marietta now. Just far enough away from the city but close enough to go into town without really planning ahead (except for traffic...). It's all good. I enjoy rotating through all of my razors, particularly my E4 Fatboy. Next would be the fat handled Pre-War Tech. I just started on the SE journey recently. First up is a 1912 Ever-Ready. I need to tweak my pressure and angle a bit so far. But the journey is fun. For soaps, I prefer those that have been around for a while; like Proraso, Arko, Col Conk and Williams Mug. It may be for the nostalgia factor or the fact that they just perform well! Best of all, there are almost infinite shaving combinations to try each day. YMMV! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
