After years of deliberation, I did it, shaved my head. My daughters hate it, my ex wife hates it, everybody hates it, a woman down the road didnt even recognise me, it possibly doesnt suite me but its very liberating. Did any of you feel you needed new clothes and more gym after taking the plunge?
Welcome to The Shave Den! My hair is dropping out of my head one at a time. I'll be there soon enough.
I went from long hair to bald one day due to retreating hairline. Took a few weeks but they got used to it. Welcome!
The kids will grow accustomed to it and honestly who gives a crap what the ex thinks. The only person that matters is you. As long as you are happy, then all is good. I have shaved my head for the last 28 years. I still have nappy curly hair if I let grow out, but do not like it at all. Embrace it and enjoy it. Watch out for sun burn during the summer and put on a toque for the winter.
@PanChango said it all. As long as you like it that is ABSOLUTELY all that matters!!!! Enjoy your new look and be careful of the sun.
Welcome fellow head shaver! My wife loves my head shaved so much, I shave it every day. It is probably a lighter color right now, but that will change, then it will look tough! tp
Welcome, from Texas. i have my wife, and two daughters threatening me, if i ever do that. They want my hair longer, just covering the ears, but hair drives me nuts, and I prefer a buzz cut.
Welcome to TSD @PeteShine! I've had moments when I've considered head shaving. In my youth I dealt with naturally curly hair that became problematic when I let it grow out. Lately I keep it much shorter. Last hair cut was with the Whal trimmer in my 7 year old grand daughters hand using the 1/2" snap on comb. I'm just that close to taking the next step. That's my concern. I don't know if my head will look funny. Until I do it, the expectation of a lumpy potato shape keeps me in a buzz cut. You didn't mention the details. What was your setup? Tell us about your razor, blade choice, soap & brush, and post shave products!
