I have come across this razor that is half comb and half bar. Can someone help ID the type and year?[IMG]

Looks to be a generic razor, from the early 1900's, when the razors took 3 hole blades.
I have seen them before, with the combo safety bar/open comb.

Hercules razors were made in Portugal. They also made open and closed comb razors with a thinner handle in a triangular shaped cardboard box.

Nice piece of history. Unknown history, but nice piece anyhow.

Looks like a DIRUS. Solingen, 30ies-40ies, manufacturer unknown.

It could also possibly be an Emir but the handle doesn't look correct with that said the maker may still be Karl Engles of Solingen who made razors under a few brand names including Emir and unbranded.

That maybe another Karl Engles made razor. What I do think is correct though regardless of the brand or maker that this one is German made and pre WWII most likely 30s.

It doesn’t have to be 30ies, Germany made the switch to long slot in the 40ies, but 3 hole was still popular.
As Solingen made white labels for almost anyone, it’s rather impossible to id the manufacturer. Emir used zamak.

Wüsthof also had a similar two piece.
