I just found this place, and it looks like a good place to be. The name is Monty, and I have recently started using a cup and soap. I still have a disposable razor, but I found that it you strop them with the blade, they stay sharp for an extremely long time, so being the tight wad that I am, I am still using it. Looking forward to some good conversation, and camaraderie... Monty
Heya Monty! Glad you finally found us! So there is still someone out there who hasn't developed an RAD. Yet. Beware! And in the meantime: happy shavings!
Hello Monty! Which soap and brush combo are you using? For me, getting better lather than the canned stuff got me started into this great hobby. The razors, blades, etc. will follow in due time. Enjoy.
Welcome to the Den. We know you'll fit right in. So grab yourself a comfy chair, and give our threads a spin! Burma Shave
to TSD. Your definately starting the correct way with using soap and brush. Good prep really makes the shave. While you use up your carts and practice your lather making you can begin your razor research. We know you want one As an added benefit it can eventualy be much cheaper to shave!
...to The Shave Den family! Be sure to stop by The Shave Den "Master Sticky" thread to familiarize yourself with the rules and different areas of The Shave Den!
Welcome to the Den! Before my first DE came in the mail, I "practiced" lathering with bowl and soap and used a Mach 3. It was good experience and made the first few DE shaves that much better. I'm a tightwad also, although I've been called "frugal" by the nice folks on this forum. Pull up a chair and join the fun, you'll fit in fine 'round here.
