How do ya buy it wrong?

 

That's easy, buying something of inferior value that fails you, or doesn't meet your expectations. Example, you purchase a razor from abroad, it fails, but in order to use the warranty you musy ship back to manufacturer in (name the country). So your initial purchase was less than (insert dollar amount) but by the time it does come back weeks later, you paid for return shipping and went without. And those combined costs were more than a quality product that was over your initial budget. And the fact you couldn't pronounce the man or woman's real name in that foreign country so they just called the self Bob. Make sense?

 

It makes perfect sense. Sorry, I was kidding, a failed attempt at humour.

 

I have both the 38c and EJ 89. I get very similar shaves from both using Personna blues. I think that I prefer the 38c a bit more for it's longer and heavier handle. Sounds similar to your experience
