I prefer a strong cup of PG Tips or Tetley, but won't turn down a nice cup of good black coffee either. Drink everything plain. I currently have Starbucks Pike Place and an old Moka pot.
I put one small ice cube in mine. back in the ole days it would make the grinds go to the bottom. now a days, just keeps me from burning the hair off my tongue.
This is one brewing method I use which is basically steeping. Here are some pics of mine this morning.
I use a very similar technique when on the go/away from home. I use the H2JO - it's basically a filter that fits directly into any wide-mouth coffee bottle and it steeps straight into the bottle (no mess). Best $10 in coffee making gear I've ever spent Here's a video, not mine, showing the concept:
Had mine for over a year. No rust or anything looks and works like new. Love it. Just make sure you got a bottle with a wide-mouth opening like a Kleen Kanteen, etc. Another video here with another bottle:
Than you for posting. I think I would tend to go with the Kleen Kanteen or see if it fits my wide mouth Stanley.
Started out with sugar and cream. Then pretty early on stopped the sugar, then soon after that dropped the cream. That was in my high school years, and been drinking it black ever since.
I didn't start imbibing until my mid to late 20s'—and cut the coffee with cream for a time. Been just black now for the past 30+ years. The exception is cream in an iced coffee.
I was raised by a U.S. Navy Chief I came home on Boot Leave, My Dad was reading the morning newspaper. (the obituary page "he used to say that it was the only truth printed in the newspaper. He also said "that the day he read his own name in the paper he would just go back to bed and stay there, it wasn't worth getting out of bed )I asked him if the coffee was ready, he said it would be in a couple of minutes. When he poured it for me I took a drink of it, Asked him do you have any cream and sugar? He got very indignant !! Said "What did the marine Corps do? Put a dress on you? You have been drinking my coffee "Black" since you were 5 years old! Only #@&%s drink coffee with cream and sugar in it! His idea of a cup of coffee is a cup of coffee that will take the paint off the side of a ship 2 Fathoms below the water line.(2 fathoms (12 feet) deep) While under way @ 10 knots.
Now if I drink Iced Coffee it has to have "Cream and Sugar and of course 2 shot's of a good Irish Whiskey either Bushmills or Jamesons. Tullamore Dew. Irish Whiskey.
Lol! Don you are a friggin nut. Just out of a mug with lactose free creamer, in the rare occasion I have a cup. I think I have a lactose intolerance issue.
Funny you should mention that, but late this morning, the coffee maker had already cut off. I poured a mug full, added a little milk, and warmed it slightly, then sat out on the front porch with our new yellow lab puppy, knowing I would be there for a while. As the coffee cooled, I was still enjoying it much more so than cool or cold black coffee! Today was the first time in many years I've added milk or cream to coffee.
