How do you try out a new razor?

I do not try new razors anymore because a few years ago I found my RAD-killer. However before I got my RAD-killer I did like this:
    1. As soon as I get it I give it a first try.
    2. If the first try impressed me, then I focus on the razor for a bit longer time (a few weeks).
    3. I evaluate it against my favorite and if it is better, then I have a new favorite
Even before I found my RAD-killer I did not really rotate between razors. Most of the time I just used my favorite, with a few shaves sometimes with my other razors to just see if my favorite is still best. Now I just shave with my favorite and I do not even go back to my old razors anymore.

I don't buy new razors that often (I have more or less settled on my Rocca and Fatip), but my blade of choice to test anything is the Personna Platinum Chrome. While I like other blades as well, if it doesn't work with PPC blades, it probably isn't for me.
