I came across this thread while Googling for some non-related shaving info. It's rather startling to see just how much my software supply has grown in just over 5 months. I've nearly doubled the number of soaps I have and now stand at 29, along with 19 creams.
How many hard soaps? Safari, MWF, VdH Glycerin, and an unknown brand of lavender How many soft soaps? RazoRock 3 different varieties How many shave sticks? Lea, Bea, and a homemade VdH Glycerin stick Almost all are untouched or nearly so, with the exception of the Fat! I also have two more soaps on order, TSD Lanolin "Desperado" and TSD Lanolin "Creme Brulee" As you can see, I'm not a soap guy. My creams outnumber my soaps, in quantity if not in variety. (I know what I like.)
Creams: Speick, TSD Unscented, Proraso (old formulation). Soaps: TSD Lanolin Irish Spring, Mike's Natural Soaps Barbershop, Erasmic (stick), Palmolive (stick).
6 going on 9. Creams: C.O. Bigelow/Proraso Soaps: VDH, Williams, TSD in 4 different flavors, Mentholated VDH and Van Der-Williams (I frankensteined the last two!). On order: Arko and Tweex sticks, Cella Then again, it'll probably be 7 since I won't be getting anymore Williams, nor making anymore Van Der-Williams. I just can't get good lather from Williams and there's too many other soaps to try to be fiddling with one stubborn soap!
Discovery of this thread has been very expensive. Fun, but expensive I did not have that many soaps before this. I was limited to a few arko stick, a twelve pack of Derby sticks, a kg of Vitos soft soap, a puck of GFT Coconut oil, MWF soap and a Portland General Stores Whiskey flavoured soap. I have the TSD Lanolin soap, and two D.R. Harris sticks on order. Not that bad after hardly a month, but reading this thread kind of made my soap AD erupt like a volcano and sent me go into a aquisition frenzy. Today I have purchased two soaps from Fitjar, one soap from Mama Bear, one soap from Queen Charlotte, one soap from the Handmade Soap Company and one soap from Joshua Tree Soapworks. And being blinded by the light as I am, I have also included a Merkur Progress razor (no RAD ), some aftershave milk from D.R. Harris and the Royal Majesties Queen Charlotte and the Queen of Blades in my purchases. I have to sell my kayaks to pay for all this I also have about eight creams and enough samples to last me through the year. In other words, this is bordering on crazy. Good crazy, but crazy nonetheless. And it is contagious. I have convinced three colleagues to purchase a safety razor, and a few others are considering it

Howdy! I've got a few soaps waiting until I finish my puck of Williams Shaving Soap. About 35 more shaves should do it. Then I will have a choice of what to try next! Exciting isn't it! Always, Gene

Did a bit of reorganizing in my soap cabinet and I have an update for ya - I'm at 50 soaps in my rotation. I didn't count the Williams (I only use that to support Williams Week and remind me how much I don't care for it), TSD Frankincense (not overly crazy about the scent so I only use it Christmas day), and Caswell Massey (terrible lather, but I use it to get the smell out of a new brush before using it for the first time). As for creams, only half a dozen. Yea, I'm a soap guy.
These are the brand name soaps I can remember that I still use and like. I don't remember all the different flavors. I mostly use hard soaps, but I want to expand more into creams and sticks in the future. My number includes everything soaps, croaps, creams and stick. Hard Soaps: TSD-1 Honey Bee-6 Rays of Colorado-2 Williams-1 VDS-5 Jody's-2 Croaps: RazoRock-2 Proraso-1 Creams: C.O. Bigalow-1 Herbs of Bulgaria-1 Stick: Arko-1 What problem!! I don't have a problem! Do you have a problem!!I don't have a problem!!
