You convinced me, I bought some two weeks ago. I guess I fall into the love it group. It does tend to dry me out a little though. Have you had any issues with this.

I can't help the OP with any kind of answer to his question, as I just recently received my bowl of Tabac, and am only 2 shaves in on the puck. With that being said, I've only barely managed to slightly round off the edges of the letters stamped on the top of the puck. And when I say slightly, I mean very, very, very slightly. 3017 sounds like a good estimate of the year I'll probably work through this puck. As a point of reference, I have a puck of Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood that I've had for about 2 1/2 years if memory serves. I have used it fairly regularly (probably 3-5 times per week most weeks) for the entire time I've owned it, and I'm MAYBE 3/4 of the way through the puck.
It does not or haven't notice any drying affects from Tabac. But.....the only soap I have used that did dry me out was De Vergulde Hand soap, even after using a good balm still pretty dry. Using Tabac with a light splash AS only I've noticed no real dryness at all. I really wish DVH didn't dry me out love the scent and makes great lather too.
Thanks for the reply. A little Stirling unscented balm and I am good to go. I have to use a balm with Tabac though. If I don't, it does dry me out. I never have to use a balm with RR or Stirling soaps. Just a little WH and AS of my choice.
I do get just a little irritation from Tabac. I really like the scent but maybe it doesn't like me. No dryness though.
I just got a Tabac stick in a trade, it came in yesterday I haven't used it yet but will in less than an hour really excited for it, it smells amazing but I just saw that it causes irritation and I get irritated from quite a few things so I'll see how it goes tonight hopefully everything is hunky-dory
To say it causes irritation is not true. To say it MIGHT cause irritation is more accurate. Hope you're irritation free!
Well just went through with it. Awesome shave, I can't get over the scent. The only thing so far is that is not as slick as some of my other soaps but I'm sure it will get better as I'll dial in the water.
After 49 shaves with it now and pretty much back to back. I have it dialed very well... I reckon it is one of the best soaps in all categories for me. Slickness for days!!! But.....YMMV... Oh yeah.....49.........BTW.
Fine....Slant shave lasts a long time for me. Also....been off helping my mother move. It has me to tired to shave! I will be back to normal after Christmas.....I hope. 52.........
