I passed up a puck of vintage Old Spice. It was too rich for my pocket. Now the stick of vintage Williams, that one I got a deal on - good soap.

 

If it's a good soap that's all you really need. If I might inquire - what is it, and do you like the scent & performance?

 

Around 30 - I think. I did receive two more in the mail just today. I don't know - need to count again. I will be attending a gathering of wet shavers in May. There will be many soap vendors there. Who knows how many soaps I'll bring back. It will probably be a lot - I have money and I am weak.

 

Dr. Jons hydra which has been getting me by but I'm not really into the scent and it makes my legs itchy. I got it from my brother.

@alexis96ulloa Cremo, available at Walmart here on The South Coast. It's around $7 for a big fat squeeze tube.
I've shared soap samples with my Lady friend. This is her favorite. New scents have come out faster than she has used them up.

 

Walmart carries Cremo here in the Northwest as well. I have not tried it yet. Actually I have never tried a shave cream in a tube. I only have tubs. Maybe it would be a new adventure to try a tube.

Try Truefitt and Hill, Taylor if Old Bond Street, and Penhaligons for shave creams in tubes. They are the best.

 

I have several Taylor of Old Bond Street soaps - all are tubs. Maybe I'll try one of their creams since I know I like their hard soaps.

I have 20 soaps but trying to bring it down to 12-15.

 

About 20 tubs. Before Xmas, Mama Bear had a 20% off sale, so I stocked up. Recently, I discovered a couple of Wisconsin based artisan soap makers and decided to give them a shot. Im probably now set for the next 2 years on soaps. LOL

 

Man! I wish I knew! I am selling a lot of mama bear stuff

 

Another excellent drugstore cream that is popular with a lot of women as well as men is Kiss My Face (KMF). I have the Lavender Shea and it is great. I know at least one other shaver on this board has scent sensitivities and finds the KMF Unscented works well enough to be his only cream now. One nice thing about KMF (besides the cheap price) is that it comes in a medium-large pump bottle that squirts a dollop at a time. And you can either lather it with a brush or use it as a brushless cream if you prefer.

I'm not sure who carries it in the States but probably most of the big chains would; here in Canada, I've found it in most of them.

 

I have 4 samples, 8 dubious homemade soaps ... plus 12 other makes of soap and 20 tubes of cream. Which in theory gives me 40 creams and soaps.... In practice, I specify "makes" of soap because one is a carton of 12 Arko sticks...

There is a reason I opted to join No Buy '17 -- excessive software. There's also a reason I will probably flunk out of NB'17 in the next couple months -- weak will plus a wishlist of 6 makes of artisan soaps I have never tried but have read being endlessly praised in the 30-Day Focus thread.. (Jeeves of Hudson Street, Reef Point, Route 66, Stirling, Soap Commander, and of course, our very own TSD...)
