Sorry guys mines a new one. Bought a Citreon DS3 techno turbo. But in a passed life I used to rebuild gearboxes for old Morris Minors. And even one for a 1917 London 8 H.P. Black cab..
Only ever had two vehicles. Drove my dad's old '72 Dodge D100 from highschool up until it pooped out four or five years ago. Now I drive a '94 Mitsubishi 3000GT.
2001 Subaru Outback which, as of a week ago, is now on its 4th head gasket. I love the car but it's starting to cost more in parts than it's worth. I just need two more years out of it.
I would give my right arm for such US trucks. They cost a fortune here, both when byuing but also servicing it.
My philosophy as well. I've owned three cars in fifteen years. A '99 Explorer I purchased for half of it's sticker price when it came off of a lease with 12k miles in '99. That one died on the road in 2007 @ about 250,000 miles with no major repairs and routine maintenance. I let the guy who towed it to his service garage have it for the tow bill. The next was a 2004 Explorer with about 30K miles on it when I bought it. It was a "Limited" trim model, and had originally sold for about $38,000. I paid $9000 or so. I drove it until about a month ago when at 200,000 miles, it was at the point where I was going to have to put about $3000 (tires, brakes with 4 rotors, etc...) into it to keep it dependable and road worthy. So I got $5000 trade value for it and just got a dandy 2013 Cadillac CTS with just over 12k miles. I fully intend to drive it until the wheels fall off.
I had a midnight blue '85 5th Ave. My aunt gave it to me in '95 when I had my first kid. It only had 65K miles on it! I LOVED that car. To this day I rue the fact I let my then wife talk me into trading it in on a POS Chevy S10 that gave us nothing but grief!
I have an old BMW from 97, but I hardly use it. I ought to sell it, but since it is even uglier than I am It's not worth much My primary car is a 2007 ford S-Max diesel. Not the spunkiest of cars, but more than enough for my needs. The rage around these parts are the Tesla cars, but not being much of a car or fashion person I think I'll pass on that one.
Mine is a 2004 Chevy Cavalier. I bought it three years ago with 49,000 miles on it. Now it has 115,000 and has been on several road trips. I paid it off too, so that gives me a lot more freedom. I hate the color and it needs a new power cluster, the speedometer is going out on it. Aside from oil changes, a new air compressor, and a windshield wiper assembly, it hasn't been too costly. And it's really easy to find parts at a junkyard since millions of these cars were made.
I had one of those. It spoiled me for the ride and the room. We once went up to Ohio and drove 500 miles without gassing up. Traded it for a Five Hundred in 08. Yesterday, however, we took delivery on a 2013 Buick LaCROSSE with 8000 miles on it. Possibly our last car.
I looked for a picture of my 2001 Lexus RX300 that I had, but could not find it. So I just backed it out of the garage and took this pic with my phone. I've had it since new and will have it for a few more years God willing. 18 in. rims with 255/55 meat. Borla exhaust, K&N intake. It runs good
Mine is getting older, photo when we picked it up TWO weeks ago, oldest car was a 66 mini. Come a long way to this.
My first car was a 1972 Chevy Vega. Bought it in 1979 when I was 17, blew the aluminum block on the way going to a concert. Made it to the show, the car, scrap yard. Chevys worst nightmare.
