How to eliminate rust

Hello. What is a good method to eliminate rust of a safety razor and other metal tools(scissors for example)?

 

On tools I've had good luck using WD-40 and the finest steel wool you can get. Flitz metal polish, paste version, also helps.

 

In my country I have Autosol available. I've heard of vinegar and water solution. Would it work?

 

A friend of mine swears by using straight vinegar and salt added.
