today's my day off - and apparently it's the only day of the week with rain and temperature below 15 C
It has been in the low to mid 80's up until the first of this week. This is what we call "Blackberry Winter" here. Every year when the blackberries start blooming, we get our last cool days until Fall.
Kinda gloomy on the prairie near Denver, Colorado, USA. 52f (11c) with rain and lightning. Tornado watch until midnight.
Thank you! Tornadoes are quite commonplace in Colorado, but most if the land is uninhabited, save for cattle and sheep and such. Most tornadoes here end up in open prairie land and do no harm at all, we are very fortunate like that most if the time. Today was also ultimately uneventful for populated areas, though there were multiple radar-detected tornado cells in Colorado today, as well as sightings by trained spotters.
Rainy days or evening thunderstorms here at the moment. Managed to finish getting the chicken coop et al done despite the rain, but starting to think the garden is going to be late getting started this year.
All is calm now. Around 11am a front came through. Trashed the yard with limbs. Neighbors lost shingles and gutters. Spent 2 hours this afternoon cleaning up.
I like it here, I grew up in Ohio but my wife grew up here. I'm not the biggest fan of 100+ degree weather but it definitely beats Ohio humidity and snow.
