Thanks everyone for your prayers and encouragement. Just wanted to let you all know that my Aunt passed on Friday night. She will be sorely missed. We knew this day would come sooner or later, but we had hoped it wouldn't have been in the dire way it happened. The hospital has a great deal of owning up to do, but at least her spirit is finally free. I know she's once and for all dancing with joy in a way she never could on earth, finally made whole!
I've got a job interview on Thursday! It's still IT, but it's a non administrator position, so in a way it's a step down in responsibility, but it starts out at about $4k more a year than I'm making now! Even though I'll be adding 27 miles to my commute 1 way, it'll be worth it--especially if it means I can get off these meds eventually.
Got in 18 holes of golf today. Got wind burn on my face and when I got home I put PSO all over my face. Good day.
The Limecat had a non-so-pleasant trip home... they messed up on his connecting flight ... his bags had a seat and he didn't! So, he had to spend the night in the Toronto airport waiting for today's flight list. They at least paid for his ticket, but still, no excuse! Anyhow... he left me an amazing early birthday present: It's over 100 years old, he says. 4/8 blade (which I've wanted), reads "THE ROYAL RAZOR" and the tang is stamped with a logo (can't make out) and "D. Peres best barber brand" It needs a bit of cleaning and a possible honing (it cuts arm hair, but not easily) and it should be good to go! Oh, and I'll need a strop. Anyone have any further info? edit: some google-fu lead me to the fact that the logo is a tapped keg which puts the blade at not older than 1885 and made in Solingen.
In other good news, my friend's wife had her surgery today (double mastectomy & reconstruction). It all went well and they saw no signs of metastasis. Thank you all for the prayers for her! She should be coming home in a couple days.
Been a really unproductive week but hoping Thursday and Friday will be better. Fun side-note: Got invited to be a speaker at a conference in SoCal - all expenses paid - travel, resort, etc + a per diem - but had to unfortunately turn it down due to other commitments (no, not shaving related ). Bummer, sounded really fun and I was already picturing how many free drinks I could have.
My cat bit my big toe last night while I was sleeping, which woke me up I guess he wanted to go outside and figured that would get my attention. Well it did. That him on the left!
He's primarily an outside cat, when it gets cold at night he comes in. For some reason he sleeps at my feet! He could sleep anywhere else in the house, no one else in my family will touch him but me. The neighbors are superstitious of a black cat. My next door neighbor has caught him in a cage, that's another story. And a bad one. Very bad.
Great that he spends a lot of time outside. When we had cats, (my wife) they only came in when they felt like it.
