Hmmm. I haven't tried their donuts. (Next time I'm in Canada, I guess, since there are none near me.) I don't care for their coffee (all of Canada just gasped), but donuts might be a different matter.

Typical beeping & buzzing and annoying stupid people pestering me, but it's my Friday...fixing to take three days off to look for ghost towns.

T.H. is now multinational company. Owned by RBI.
Restaurant Brands International is a multinational fast food company. Formed by the $12.5 billion merger between American fast food restaurant chain Burger King and the Canadian coffee shop and restaurant chain Tim Hortons
The company is the third-largest operator of fast food restaurants in the world.
3G Capital ( is an American based multi-billion-dollar investment firm key ownership by Brazilian nationals. 3GC held a 71% majority stake in Burger King prior to the merger, now holds a 51% majority stake in Restaurant Brands International.
Berkshire Hathaway, who partially funded the merger, holds a 4.8% stake.
Companies of this size no longer have a nationality or seem to care. They have sales locations and float head offices and dealing to where tax structures suit them best.

I remember as a kid getting some when we would vacation in Canada. The best donuts. I tried some a few years ago here in the States and I wasn't that impressed. Either the Canadian ones are better, they declined in taste or my taste buds as a kid appreciated them more. Don't get me wrong, I'd still eat there again, after all, they're donuts.

The kid ones probably tasted better because of fewer health requirements/concerns then. Everything tastes good in lard, not so much in canola oil.

TH doughnuts used to be made locally by the franchise owner. They now arrive par-baked and flash frozen from a production facility. They were definitely bigger and better a decade ago.

The worst named doughnut shop is still Canadian. http://www.gloryholedoughnuts.com/shop/
Folks sometimes fact is greater than fiction. Located in a hipster area whereby I'm sure the patrons feel that the name is so existential.

Hi guys-I've been away from TSD action for a while, having caught the flu. My Mom took me in at her home since the thing began, and I'm home now. Doing somewhat better, but not 100% just yet. I'm glad that doctors don't say "NO SHAVING UNTIL YOU'RE 100%" lol.

Thanks! Sure is about timeing. And to a certain extent one can choose to enter into the market at own choosing, I guess. But timing one's own birth year in relation to conjunctions and the market is hardly an option. Straight out of school I didn't have access to the upfront payment necessary and ended up living with a friend of mine in his place, paying down on his mortgage instead. I could have been more strategic, but in that situation most of those who managed to buy were helped by their parents, and mine didn't have much to spare. I didn't buy a place until 2012. Going to sell that now, obviously, and the realtor just told me that he would set the price 20% higher now compared to what we paid for it. Exciting to the point of nerve-wrecking stress, this next month, with prepping, styling, photo shoot, showings and hopefully a bidding round that skyrockets ;)

Oh, the mental images... Reminds me of a joke about the most popular guy at a no-textile beach – he was able to carry two large drinks and 12 doughnuts from the beach kiosk.

I once came across a Filipino NGO that went by the name MILF. Not so fortunate.

Good luck @Halvor, hopefully your house sells for a lot more than you bought it and you can walk away with some profit! :)

Here's a difference: taking the doggie out for a morning walk.

This is already on the outskirts of the village:

And I mean outskirts (*turns around*):

But Zorro was anxious to walk on: "Can we go now, please?"

Oh, how I'd much rather be on Zeeland now! (I'm still bugged I never managed to visit the islands while living in A'dam. Believe I have had a beer from there, though ;)
