Heavt thunderstorms 30 minutes ago.. now it is sunny as can be with torando sirens going off. I think they are a little off on their timing. Guess I ought to go ahead and check the warning/watch info.

Edit: ummm... I didn't know they set of the tornado sirens for flood warnings. hmmmm... OK... high wind advisory and flash flood... there is tornado watches in the area... just not my county. Oh well.

So if they sound the tornado siren to warn about a flash flood, we all go down to the lowest level and drown?

Hey, they decided to solve the problem by removing the affected parties. Similar to shooting a lawnmower that won't start.

I have always wondered about falling off a dock that was posted no swimming... I guess you just have to drown then too?

    Evening TSDers.

My parents made it back home safely and my son is missing his "Nanny" quite a bit. I don't know if it is harder on him or my mom when they leave. The live in NE so she only gets to see him 5-6 times a year so I don't get to upset when she spoils the heck out of him.

Looks like we have some cold and snow coming our way for the next few days. Too bad it has been in the 50's for about a week with a couple days of upper 60's. Luckily the cold is supposed to be short lived and warm is coming back by the weekend.

Ray, hope you are enjoying the Noxema.

Shep, I have been racking my brain for a crappy A/S but I haven't really come upon one yet. Some not so great, but nothing bad yet.

    Hi All,

Snowy, sunny, windy, calm, snowy again here today. Ah, live in the beautiful Palouse! Had a great shave late this morning with my old man's '56 SS flare tip and a feather. It's the best shave I've ever managed out of that razor. A good blade makes a world of difference. Followed up with a nice splash of AS Musk (got my first bottle yesterday). Yum... love this stuff.

About to hit the bench and get some work done this afternoon - still catching up on OPPs (other people's pens). Hope you're all having a great day.

Bong, Exedrin PM - especially if you've got a day off with no moving involved. You'll sleep like a baby and your back will relax. Hope it's over quick for you. I'm in my 6th month since the move and still haven't unpacked everything. Got a letter from the landlady today saying it's time for me to decide whether to extend for another 12 months or not. Decisions, decisions...

Yep, me too... My son has one that his grandmother gave him a couple Christmases ago - it's called 'Bod', and the box features slutty cartoon babes with thought bubbles that say "I want your Bod". Smells like skunk turds dissolved in alcohol, with a little deer musk scent (think bow hunters) thrown in for bad measure. :sick007

Since I've never really used this, um, product, I didn't feel like I could add it to the list. Definitely to be avoided at all costs. Even my son doesn't like it, but it was a gift, so he feels like he's got to hang on to it.

I'm at work tonight, too. :D

Weather: warm, maybe some showers this evening/overnight.... I think there may be some nasty weather headed our way later in the week...

Dinner tonight was freakin' awesome. I smoked a pork shoulder (picnic) over night last night. It turned out great! Coleslaw, chips, potato salad, baked beans.....yum yum yum! Of course now I can hardly move :sick007 :D

    Matt,
How did you smoke the pork overnight? I have a smoker but I have to reload the wood chips/chunks about every hour or so? Its about time to break the ol smoker out soon also:)

sol92258 I have no earthly idea

my biggest catfish was slightly over 22 lbs...somehow I got it in the boat after the tip of the pole broke as I brought him in.
my grandpa used to catch 50-60 pounders down in Mobile, I just remember seeing the massive heads hanging out back, sometimes I'd get to see those giant suckers right after he'd get back, course I was like 7-8 yo at the time, so they looked as big as sharks to me :D
    yup....

What type of smoker? I have a Weber Smokey Mountain, which is a vertical smoker, aka water smoker, aka bullet smoker.

There's a way of loading up the charcoal in the bottom that allows a long, even slow burn. It's called the Minion Method and is named for the guy who first started posting about it on the BBQ forums: Jim Minion. Basically, fill up the bottom ring with the charcoal and some wood chunks, then in a chimney starter fire up about 15-20 coals. Once they're ready, dump them into the ring, set up the smoker, and you're all set. I put the meat on about 7:40pm, and at 6:00am the temp was holding steady at 248°.

The directions that came with the smoker say to start a full chimney, when it's ready dump that into the empty ring, then add another full chimney of unlit coals. Once they're all burning, then start cooking. That 1) takes too long to get cooking and 2) doesn't give enough coals to allow for the long burn.

Also, use wood chunks, not chips. They last longer. Heck, last night I used two pieces of applewood I got from a local orchard - they were each the size of regular firewood. :D

Well, if you ever find yourself in Baltimore......RUN!!!!!! No, seriously, give a shout. :D
