How would taking my laptop across the street to type a message make it less offensive?

Shave #2 with another of Rodd's OC razors today. I'm learning that not all open combs are created equal. I'll tell you the one I really liked was the Bostonian (I think that's what Rodd called it). Has a longer handle and some good heft to it. That razor shaved really nice. Any ideas where I could get one of those?

There are usually some on the bay. I have been trying off an on to get once since October. But I have a terrible sense of timing and always look the day after 5 go for a song.

    Was it a gold/brass Bostonian?

If so they pop up quite a bit on the bay. I owned 3 at one time, too mild for my liking. The shaves I got with them were not good.

Ok. I reread Rodds post where he told me what they all are. It's known as either a New Improved a New Standard. The gold razor at the back on the right:

EDIT: Really Tracy? I thought it shaved quite aggressive compared to the Slant or an SS. Wow.

Bostonians, Richwoods, they were the case. They are New Improved or New Standards. However, eBay auctions usually say old brass or gold toned razor. You have to look at all the pics.

Ah yes, that is a Differnt Bostonian than I was talking about. That is like my 26 Bostonian that I refuse to sell. Darn good shavers Shep. I don't know how easy they are to attain on the bay but I found mine at an antique shop but it is silver.

Gee there is a "Stunning" Bostonian with case that ends in just under 4 hours. Most "stunning" thing I see is that it looks like a 1924 Ever-Ready. Now if I had a Bostonian already and needed a case... it might be worth it.

Got locked out for a spell.

So what do you guys think of this BIN?

Justin, what it that up to. That is the same case I have for mine except mine has the Bostonian Razor in it. That case will hold a slant perfectly. I use it when I travel to keep mine safe.

Shep, that is the razor I was talking about before you posted your pics. I did not like how that razor shaved. Not nearly aggressive and I had to use mega pressure to get a passable shave with that. You can find those often on the bay.

Evenin' gang. Just sitting here all bored-like as I back up stuff and download linux discs for later. Only real questions are... Arch or Fedora... 32 or 64-bit? No reason *not* to dump Vista if Linux can handle everything I'm doing and support all my hardware.

Done with that first Super Blue blade. It was ok, but I have many more that out do it. I may break one out every now when the urge strikes me, but for now they're gonna stay in the dispenser and make the fatboy set look better.

I think it's way too much...

let me find some pics of what I picked up recently, we'll see if one of them is the same as that BIN...

So what's the difference? What am I looking for to get one like Rodd's? Can you guys keep your eyes peeled for me? I really don't do eBay much and in fact my account is locked up over there as I haven't used it in a few years. If you found something and wanted to bid it for me I'd reimburse you all costs. I'm assuming we're talking the $20 to $50 range here.

Is this NEW the same as in that BIN? I think it might be. Way too much IMO...

Holy smokes. I didn't even see the price before I replied to Shep. I think I paid about $5 before shipping on one of mine and the other was with a group of razors that I got for like $11 or something.

Shep if you want one of those post an add in the classifieds.

That is a NEW head. Notice there are no guide pins and it has the same cap that was eventually used on the tech. It uses a central groove to keep the blade/cap straight instead of the pins. I like my NEW heads. I haven't had a New Improved or New Standard to compare it with.

Tracy, the SE in the Bostonian case was up to $15 the last I looked.
