btw from past discussions I know we have a couple other Battlestar Galactica fans in here. Last episode is this Friday. A two hour wrap up show to finish the series. This season has been for the most part lame-o w/ a capital Q, but the last show should be good (I hope). Anyways, TIVO or watch it. Friday night.

 

I09 isn't very impressed.

 

My hope right now is that they don't go for the cheap way to wrap it up, like some sucky "everybody is a Cylon" kinda ending. Give us something on par with the atmosphere jump on New Caprica at the very least.

 

It sometimes can find it but still will not connect..and at times can not find it at all.. always sees the neighbors though.grrrrrr

Ok. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something important about that razor that would justify the cost. He's looking for a sap is what we're saying.

As for BSG, the link micah put up was a review of last weeks show which was just as lame as all of them this past season. The show went from a sci-fi action/adventure to more of a soap opera drama this season. Like I said lame. It seems they are ratcheting up the action for the finale though so I'm hopeful for a decent send-off.

I think it would be kind of cool if everyone (the humans and the cylons) got nuked out of existence and we see star dust getting sucked into the black hole. Then pan to the other side of the galaxy and there's the "real" Earth. All 5 billion of us just motoring along like nobody's business. Just fightin', frakkin, and shavin'!

Just sayin'...if I was the writer.

 

I like that episode version Shep. Probably better than the one we are going to get.

 

We don't get cable and so I watched a couple episodes of 4.5 online. I thought the season was going to be awesome with the big reveal at the end of the first half, but it seems like they just ran the plot into the ground and kept going. I can take only so much teen angst and pointless existential depression before I turn the TV off. From what I've seen, I don't know that I'll be able to finish the season.

On the other hand, the wife and I are rewatching the first season. It's quite good. The writers and producers should've watched it a couple more times before sitting down to write the last season.

 

While we're on "How I would have ended it."

I've never actually seen the new BG.

I'm still fuming over the lame ending to Star Trek Voyager.

If it had been up to me:


Helmsman: Captain, we're reading something unusual on long range scanners.

Janeway: What is it? On Screen!

Helmsman: It appears to be one lifeform in an unusual craft.

Janeway: Magnify! What in God's name is that?

Helmsman: The database confirms that it is a human---riding a 20th Century craft known as ---an-- Inner-tube?

<Camera cuts to Wesley Crusher drifting in space on an innertube, sipping a pina colada and wearing a tacky Hawaiian shirt and sunglasses, complete with white sunblock over his nose.>

It just goes on from there.


I figure it would have been an excellent vehicle to give Wesley Crusher an opportunity to redeem his character.

Afternoon shave fans!

Got some Palmolive shave sticks in the mail today. Also got a brand new Merkur Progress today as well.

 

That, sir, is an impossibility right up there with teaching pigs to fly or causing Merkur blades to shave well.

But I like your idea- only if it ended with Wesley getting Photon torpedoed out of existence. I actually like Will Wheaton. He got handed a real lemon with that character.

 

The first seasons of BSG were great. Just this last one has been lame. I just found this on the interwebs though. Seems they're doing a prequel. Read the user comments at the end of that story. Some are quite hysterical.

Since we're in a sci fi mood here today, let me just say I'm looking forward to the new Star Trek movie coming up. Could be great, could be a dud, but I'm looking forward none the less.

 

Same here. I wanna see it in the theater. I haven't seen anything in the theater for 2+ years. Darn kids.

And I'm highly, highly dubious of that BSG prequel. I'm not putting any time into watching until I hear some favorable reviews.
