morning folks. the weather changed around here and now I feel like crud. Happens ever time it warms up and the pollen comes out. I'm thankful it's treatable and that it's temporary.

My wife is going thru the same as you. She always gets bad when it starts to get nice out. This and last year seem to be even worse so I think it is time to get some new allergy pills. Can a person get immune to allergy pills?

Very nice stuff. It is the best shave stick that I have used so far. So good that I haven't milled into an AH bowl yet!

Its just to see you again! Don't worry about being late with my stuff either... (OK, you don't have any work for me - don't panic)

Yup... time for another round of seasonal allergies. What happened to the avatar? Finally give up on BSG? I thought Corey had posted back to back at first.

Mornin' all. Tracy how does the Progress stack up against your other razors? Particularly the slant and the OC's. I took a look at the Progress but it's a tad expensive, and I don't like that plastic end cap.

Adeptus, when do YOU sleep?

Bong, where you going on vacation?

    Hey ho everyone else.

Shep, I find the progress is a darn good razor. It shaves me better than my slant. This sounds strange but it doesn't seem to get as close as the merkur. I don't have any stubble and usually have a very smooth face but I get some growth a little quicker with the progress vs the slant. The progress also seems to be a little more forgiving but that could be because I am using astra superiors in it. As far as the OC I can't say. I haven't busted the OC out for months.

The plastic handle is an eye sore but it isn't as cheap as it looks either. I ordered mine from WCS and it was $53 shipped.

Ok, you've confused me. It shaves better than the slant but not as close and your growth comes back quicker. How is that better?

I am stumped by that as well. Clarification please?

    I will try to clarify.

I have basically a BBS shave with both. I feel no stubble and my face is very smooth. I just seem to notice a little stubble about an hour or so quicker than with the slant. For me it is better because I get a smoother shave and no irriation. With the slant I got a little irritation and every so often would a get a bump or 2 on the left side of my neck. I also find the progress is easier to use with buffing and j-hooking than the slant. I know this sounds dumb but I feel like a smoother/closer shave with the progress but I get stubble growth faster.

I should add that I shouldn't have used the word closer in my OP. I think the progress is as close if not closer in the shave I just get stubble quicker. It makes no sense but that is what I find.

So you like the Progress better. Matt is sending me a Gillette adjustable to try out. I'm very curious the results. I've tried three different Merkur razors now and only one, the Slant, actually provides a decent shave. I love how Merkurs look; they just don't seem to shave right. At least the one's I've tried.

I have tried and used both the gillette fatboy and slim. Slim was my go to razor for a while. The progress blows both of them out of the water.

Hey sol92258 I was just looking at your "awesome rack" and I would like to point out that Atreides is more of a Sandlewood Vanilla/Spice scent than Sandlewood Vanilla...

    Thus the name Atreides.

Grilling season is OPEN! Molasses coffee BBQ pork chops ala Good Eats tonight offering. :D

Easier to just replace the grid plates than spend hours with a wire brush. You'd think Char-Broil's "universal fit" plates would fit their own models correctly. They don't. I've got about 3"-4" open on one side after buying three replacements vs. the two original parts (which would have to be special ordered).

Shep it's true I always miss bio but that is partly because I listen to the lecture recorded and follow along with the notes online. Makes it a lot easier to take notes when you can pause the professor.

Corey's avatar reminded me of a certain album's cover art, which I then made into my avatar.
