Have you won any yet? I've got a Bengall, a Boker, and a Double Arrow all inbound, in addition to the japanese straight.

When I first saw FTW used... I kept trying to figure out why ppl kept ending their sentences with Ft. Wayne! Of course, I think I was not quite 100% in tune with reality at the time.

    Nah.
I was bidding on a damn-near-mint Genco, only had a small nick in the blade that would hone out easily but that went just above what I wanted to pay.
    I'm currently watching a couple of Wosty's and maybe a W&B.

Honestly, I'm not bidding aggressively because I don't want to spend very much.
I don't "need" any more straights... I just wouldn't mind picking up a couple to have restored and made into shaving shape for when I get around to trying it.

I hear ya. With the exception of the Japanese Straight, I managed to snag the Boker and the Bengall for 13 shipped and 10 shipped, respectively. The fine folks at SRP spoke pretty well of the Double Arrow saying it had good steel that took very well to a hone, but crap scales. No problem, I wouldn't mind finding a nice kit and replacing the scales anyway, and for $10 new on ebay from stamps222, I think it's worth a shot. Once they head past 20 bucks, I lose interest.

Oh I sooo want to snark a certain overpriced caseless B/S/T thread, but I'm being good. It's hard, but I'm being good. :D

So, if you were going to spend a buttload of money on cake from Charm City Cakes, would it piss you off if half of it was styrofoam, wooden dowels, and steel pipe covered in fondant?

Yes, it would tick me off. But then again, I would hope that I would realize that was going to be the case before ordering from them.

Do you think people know? I see them making these huge wedding cakes, and most of it is completely inedible. I'd like to see the follow up where the bride and the groom go to cut into the cake as husband and wife and their knife makes the wonderful squeaking sound only found in trying to cut through styrofoam.

I don't have direct links to the cakes, but Scott Kurtz (of PvP the webcomic) has a brother that is amazing with cakes. He did one for the PvP 10th anniversary last year, and another for PAX in Seattle that were just mind-blowing. and EVERY LAST SCRAP WAS EDIBLE. No foam, wood, metal.
