ahaha I already shifted to chaotic neutral and Seth was forced to too last session when he attacked some dock worker. We can cause an annoying amount of havoc and piss off the monk!

I want to take a bunch of ranks in slight of hand so I can just be standing around and POOF giant fireball goes rolling through everything. Can't blame the druid, she was just standing around being cute...

    Fun stuff. :D

And on that note, I think I'm going to lie down for a while.
That's the great thing about being on my days off... naps whenever I bloody well feel like it.

Good morning... or in your case... go to bed.

Very very nice. I wish the lathe was working at my school. The shop teacher would let me use it. But as I have been the only one who has asked to use it in the 13 years I have been here, it hasn't been fixed (been broken about 20 years). I still want a lathe!

Can you have a straight in your dorm?

    :happy102 Priceless! :D

What, you aren't going to kill all your party members to use their souls to pay off other entities?

Morning everyone. Three passes with the RR this morning and then touched up with a tech. Not bad; however, how do you know when this thing is as sharp as it is supposed to be? I am feeling a lot of drag; however, I guess that is due to the rest of the blade sliding against my skin.

Matt, you ever get over the dragging sensation on your straights?

    Its Friday! Woo Hoo!

Good morning everyone! Getting little one on the bus here shortly, then I've got a lot of running around to do....:D

Yes and no. It has been lessened with the Wostenholm which was honed to a higher sharpness than it originally was with the W&B. I hope that makes sense....I had the W&B and Wostie honed at the same time, same guy. After the trouble, I sent the Wostie back and he honed it even sharper. I have noticed a difference, but it's still no where near as smooth as a DE. Is that inherent in a straight? I don't know....

However, I can tell you, too, that technique has way, way more to do with things than I anticipated....I was expecting a DE v. Mach 3 level of technique....no way. This is much harder than I ever anticipated, and I think technique has every bit as much to do with my troubles as the razor sharpness.

That said, I tend to get better shaves from the heftier razors with the sharper blades. It's been said to me that the hollow grounds might be too light for me and my beard; I'm beginning to agree - that's why I'm picking up those Rodgers wedges today...

    HTH :D

You should offer to buy it from the school for a lowball price and fix it up.

Nice find on those razors, we've got junkers being sold at NOS prices around here. I'd love to get my hands on a big ol' meat cleaver wedge.

I told you that wood would look awesome, dineye? That is gonna be beeyaytifful when it's all polished and shined up. Is it softer than the rosewood?

I knocked some of the sawdust off my lathe yesterday just to see how hard it was going to be to clean up... everything appears in working condition, it's pretty much ready to go. All I need to do is find a drill that's big enough to fill the round strap-clamp. :happy102 This thing was made back when it took three guys to chuck a drill apparently. I thought about just putting a smaller ringclamp on it and using my cordless for really slow-speed turning. Probably wouldn't work for wood, but I bet it'd work a treat for turning PC.

morning folks! the wife seems to be mostly healed and the daughter is back to gurgling and being cute. I shaved with the slim set to 9 and a fresh red IP. Awesome shave! Can't do it every day, though, or I'd end up with a lot of irritation.

Well... Indiana law is such that they can't do that. If they let it go, it has to go to a public auction.

OK... well with that being said, I wonder if I will find the same kind of result. I do much better with a heavier DE than a light one. The little itty bitty RR handle just doesn't suit my hands either. I am reading up on hones/strops maybe in June we will see...

Glad to see everyone is doing better!

Tee-hee-hee..... any experience with those? I have seen ones like that but I have been worried about how they hold up. I have also been wondering about mounting something on a bearing at the bottom of my drill press and seeing how that would work (vertical wood lathe)

I thought I'd have difficutly with the RR for that same reason, but for some reason it just came really natural to me. I had a great XTG pass with it today! Now, I have yet to use it exclusively in one shave so that may change things...

Jim, I meant to say something earlier, but I have to plus one thousand everyone's compliments on that brush you're turning right now....that looks beeeeeeee-yoou-ti-ful!!!!! Nice work!!! :happy096

    Just don't drop the darned thing.... :happy102
