I know that feeling.....you either come right home and sleep until noon-ish (or just after..) and miss the early part of the day, or you stay up and wind up crashing at something ridiculous like 7:00.....at least I get 4 days off....well, not anymore b/c I just started a 2nd job....

My team used to work rotating 12's.

Luckily we work fixed 8's now, but I'm third shift and often take up a day schedule when I have days off, like this last week, so the first night back (like last night) is always challenging.

 

We work rotating 12's. Been doing it for 12+ years. You never get used to it, you just learn to cope.

We work 2-10 hour days followed by 2-14 hour nights.....but we can sleep at work....sometimes

 

You know, I don't really want to work day shift at my current job, but when the economic situation levels out some, I think I'm going to start looking for a day job again.
Night work and rotating schedules are hard on one's health and makes a social life darn near impossible.
Not as much of an issue for married folk, but it sure isn't helping my rather stale bachelorhood.

 

I can only imagine....that's rough....and in a town with such a prolific nightlife, it's a shame to miss out on that!

 

:happy102 Unfortunately I can't. New papermachine doesn't want to let us run her. She runs us. We first made paper almost 2 years ago, and still battle the machine.

Hey there, whoever's still awake... Just thought I'd poke my nose in here and say hi. Man, it's sure been quiet around these parts lately. There's almost an echo in here.

Gonna grab some chow and hit the bench for a bit. Jen, hope your arm's feeling okay. I had a neighbor that started donating in the Korean War and gave over 20 gallons in his lifetime. Pretty inspiring. Matt, hope you sleep well. Everyone on odd shifts, good luck!

Hey ya brother and everyone else. Just finished up a few games of Rook. Love that game. Had to drive over to Lake Charles this afternoon for my mom. Will be out there in the morning to mow and work in the garden for her. So am relaxing now.

Currently quiet.. Getting close to nap time. 0430 was early this morning and I spent like 5 hours on the road after a half day at work. I am finding that I am not as spry as I use to be about traveling. I have been playing with my 1913 OLD set. Had to repair the case lock. I got it closing though even though it is still a little off.. I think the case was dropped sometime. But the razor and the blade case <zippo style> cleaned up great. My buddy with the antique shop is bringing me something to clean up the basket weave on the top of the case.

 

Sounds good! I'm hoping to find some blade boxes for my razors one of these days.

 

Got a new knife today. A Puma Python. Cute lil knife with wood scales, and a nice leather sheath, 2 3/4" fixed blade.

 

Cool.

Ok I am off to bed. just took a bath and blew through the second shave of the day. Colgate soap. 1913 OLD, 7OCG. and special Reserve...= Great shave.


Oh and Rocketman seems to be hooked on the 1912...WooHoo!!!!
