same here, using the good ole [slash]Calvin[/slash] rabbit ears, get a few more channels, but I'll take the old consistent stations over the new Max Headroomed stations anyday.
and why am I not getting PBS HD yet? still only get it at 24, which will be gone when the official changeover happens....which is ironic, since PBS is doing the big switch to digital hype with some of their shows. I mainly notice some of the This Old House guys running around showing different houses in different neighborhoods what's what when it comes to the digital conversion, yet they're still not available themselves in digital??? (at mi casa, anyway) WTH?

I would consider Netflix if I didn't already have access to Micahflix - maybe not as large a library as Netflix, but he has a higher percentage of flix I'd be more likely to watch

and DVDs? what DVDs? (as I slowly fill up my TB HD for use on my WDTV....)

1. I hooked up one of those little flat airplane wing antennas in the bedroom to one of those digital converter boxes and it gets two extra PBS channels that my big aerial hooked to the new flatscreen somehow misses.

2. Micahflix may have a smaller selection, but Netflix doesn't offer an "Adult" section...

I prefer that the beam is too high. You could fall and hurt yourself you know.

 

speaking of adult section, I was trying to view some "adult" videos online last night in Ubuntu on my (finally dual-booting) desktop at home, and tried forever to find the codecs I needed to view the video. I guess it wasn't meant to be for me to learn to apply BLO/CA finish last night...

 

Yeah... I had problems getting flash and other videos to work in Ubuntu properly and couldn't watch anything on it at first either. I finally got it working, but I don't recall what it was that I did to get the codecs to work...

Part of my problem is the codecs wanted an i386 installation and I was on an AMD 64 installation, I had to trick things into installing anyway.

 

There will be NONE of that. We gots class in here Mr. NO canned goo and NO canned beer.

I get WQED via DirecTV, but to get PBS in HD, I had to hook up rabbit ears to get the WNPB subchannels (Morgantown is in the Pittsburgh market as far as DirecTV/Nielsen is concerned, but the local PBS station is *not*, even though I can see their tower from my house, and be at their station in less than 20 minutes).

There was talk on the DBS forums that the hold up for satellite views ans PBS was that PBS was demanding that DirecTV offer *all* the PBS channels in HD, or none.
