I can imagine.. But then again, I would assume that a normal day is a bit toasty in the mill.

Thats true, but on really hot days the power company shuts us down. Then we're stuck at work in the dark making no incentive pay or sent home.

Yeah. That "it's a dry heat" line may have meant something back in the 50's before there were thousands of square miles of concrete and a million swimming pools adding to the heat and humidity indexes. Trust me; it's freakin' hot down here and you feel it! Although I have to admit I've grown accustomed to it, and it doesn't bother me that much anymore. I'll be glad to put it behind me all the same.

Well all, gotta run and add a 2lb brick of Velveeta into the crock pot and finish the chowder for tonight's meal. I'll talk to you all later.

Makes you long for the sci-fi implementation of smart grid technology that most folks panic over: two-way communication and control. Wouldn't it be much better if the power company could adjust everyone's thermostat up 1 degree and keep you guys working?

Guess I shouldn't start this - the company I work for does a lot of smart grid solutions, but none of the two-way stuff. I've got friends in that business though.

Strangely, the first totally smart-grid city is in Colorado, rather than AZ :happy102

The older I get, the more I hurt, and the only place I want to be is AZ.

And it is a dry heat. and I'm serious.

    Now you're talking!

    Well I'm thwarted by
    A metaphysic puzzle
And I'm sick of grading papers
That I know And I'm shouting in my sleep
