The electric has worked fine for her legs, but recently (summer coming, shorter sleeves) I think she's really been using a lot of pressure and really over doing it, and now she's got herself some irritation. I'm thinking of maybe the single blade Bic disposables to start, along with a brush and shave stick...

Justin, I'm thinking that maybe an electric would be the most simple and safest way to start. Even at 11 (12 in July), I'm concerned about letting her use razors....

Matt: Maybe a Tech to start off with. I still use mine for armpit shaving. Much nicer shave than a Bic. Oh, and get her something "pretty" smelling for shave soap. Can't smell like one of the boys ya know

Just checking in for a little while. We got back late from my mother in law's house last night so its still nice and quiet as the little ones sleep. I love the way my mother in law cooks. Great steak and potato dinner. We also grilled some sliced pineapples with some kind of brown sugar and other stuff that coated it. Soooo good...

Justin - Sounds like your having a good weekend. Congrats. Paper done and 1st straight shave.

 

Happy Memorial weekend Sunday kids. Spent the past 2 days in the hospital while wifey recovers from the gall bladder removal. She's back home now in some considerable pain, but it's getting better by the day. Now she's got some issue w/ her liver cells so that's next to deal with. Anyway the operation was a success and hopefully in a few days she can finally eat normal again.

Pulling a shift today and then tomorrow off again. Maybe throw some burgers on the grill for Mem. Day, and watch some old WWII black and whites on TCM or something. I love those old movies.

 

Glad to hear the surgery went well and hoping for th best for the other issues...

 

Egads... still quiet... I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday.. Just got a call from the wife, they won't be back until late tonight. hmmmmm...

It was odd... found a bag with 4 razors for $10. A new, a MM, and two injectors. I put the bag down and walked off. A month ago, that would have been purchased in a heartbeat. Maybe it is time to offload some more...

But what....

 

Hmm...I guess some PdP would've fit that bill nicely, huh? :happy102 I'm sure I've got something for her...some rose cream maybe... although, I think she'd be better off with a soap or stick...


Shep, sorry to hear your wife's not feeling well, but it sounds like the surgery went well so I'm happy to hear that.... Drink a brew for me tomorrow, I'll be at work (although I've had more than my share this weekend already )

evening folks. just got back from bringing the kids to see the grandparents. good visit all around, although I made an important discovery:

don't store carbon steel blades anywhere that's humid. our bathroom doesn't vent well and retains a lot of humidity and moisture. I didn't realize how bad it was until I took my gem and a carbon steel blade as my travel setup. got there with nothing else to shave, unwrapped the blade and the whole thing's rusted. I shaved with it anyway and it was okay- but I'm gonna toss the rest of the carbon steel I have in that drawer and move all my other blades out from the bathroom. I'm willing to be the mistake everyone learns from- don't do what I did.

 

:happy102 I dunno that PdP would qualify as "pretty". I was thinking a stick of something from Mama Bear or a melt n fill of JoAnna's soap into a stick holder.

 

Sweet. Just scored some Royall Lyme and JM Frasers off the BST. Really didn't need either one but what the hell. You only go around once!

 

Yeah... bathrooms are bad for humidity.. All my blades and razors are out here in sealed containers with dessicant. Otherwise anything carbon would rust in minutes.

 

My wife was quite happy with GFT Violet and Rose...

 

Both some good stuff too.

Hey there Dom! I've just had company since middle of the week is all. How's things?

 

Things are pretty good. Just got back home from a very lovely weekend about an hour ago. I'm exhausted, though. I'm going to sleep like a baby tonight.

Got your envelope on Friday when I got home. Managed to send your package out to you Friday morning. Sorry it took so long.

 

No worries about the box, I'm not going anywhere. My mom is here yet till tomorrow. The rest left today.
