Not much going on... I had a great shave from a shave king this morning although I would rather have used the straight. I just don't want to push my luck in the early morning before school. At least not in the next two weeks. Wow... I only have 8 more of these early mornings left before break. Woo Hoo!

8 school days left, 2 days until my 15th anniversary.... 2 days??!@? Crud, that is coming up fast!

What do you do with your summers? Do you work, summer school (teach or attend?), relax....? Inquiring minds want to know...

I'm with you on the no-straights-in-the-wee-hours-of-the-morning rule; when I get up (like yesterday and today) I use my DE...I save the straight for my nightworks and days off.... Too tired, and more importantly, ususally too rushed to be able concentrate enough....

 

I used to work during the summer. I learned many interesting trades and worked in a number of unusual places (some of which could be on Dirty Jobs). However, when my daughter was born I stopped doing that and starting doing summer school. After a few years, with her Aspergers issues, it isn't worth the hassle of having her kicked out of one day care / camp after another in order for me to teach summer school. So now, I just veg out. It is relaxing, but by the end of the summer I am near insane. Two summers ago I started sewing my own kites and was having a lot of fun doing that. However, last year we got a dog and that now makes that more trouble. We will probably stay a week at my parents. There will be a few camping trips. Its hard to do too much while the wife is slaving away at work.

I am toying with the idea of showering and shaving with the straight before I go to bed... however, I only have 8 more days, why change...

 

Good morning all. Had a very good shave this morning after a slight bit of disappointment with the C&E stuff I picked up. I'd like to give straight razor shaving a go again. It was kind of fun, but I always had the feeling in the back of my mind that I'd never know if the mediocre quality of shave was from poor shaving technique or poor stropping technique. I set all of that stuff aside and went back to enjoying the DE stuff after about two weeks of meh shaves. Blade maintenance is not for me at this time.
