    Good day, everyone.

Seems to have really slowed down in here. Must be because of the nice weather.

I spent a few hours yesterday at the New England Pen Show. Met up with the girlfriend and a mutual friend for Irish Breakfast at an Irish pub at about 2:30 PM. Breakfast in the early afternoon. Yum.

The pub is right across the street from Fenway park (Red Sox Home Stadium). We didn't realize that there was both a game and a Phish concert on the same street. I've never seen such a large number of hippie kids in Boston ever. They were all stoned and/or drunk at 2 in the afternoon. Get a job.

    /grumpy rant

Other than the crowd in the area surrounding the pub, the day was quite a great one. I can't wait for the pen show next year (forgot to pick up something while I was there). I picked up a couple books on fountain pens and will be reading up on vintage pens (I've never been interested in vintage pens before) and will be more prepared and well educated for next year's show.

My wildflowers, poppies, basil, and sunflowers all started sprouting over the weekend too. Good times.

Don't give up on the straight yet, Corey. It'll take a little practice.

Also, if you're in here, Pam, did you get my last email with the picture? I fear it may have been too big to go through.

Hi, JoAnna. If you still need opinions on your wheat cream, I think most of the guys in here expressed that lime would be a good scent. Let me know.

    You don't like the outdoors?

    Human sacrifice!!!

The weather and vacation bible school- for me, anyway. My whole morning evaporated into a writhing mass of chaotic chillins'.

And during the canoe trip this past weekend, we passed tons of heavily drinking young'uns. I had to fight the urge to tell them to:

    1. cover up (the girls, anyway)
    2. sober up (it was only 10am)
    3. get a job or do something constructive with their time instead of hanging out on a sand bar killing brain cells.

    Hi All,

I'm home grabbing a quick bite of lunch. Missus just pulled in from Spokane. Got a long afternoon of work ahead, but I'm looking forward to it.

I'm glad to hear the alum block worked so well. Skeeter bites usually bother me for days. Yet another reason to break down and buy one. If I could only source them locally...

Dom - no pens? Zero? Nada? Zip? I'm shocked... :shocked003:shocked003:shocked003
I still expect a full review in an email sometime :D

Corey, hang in there with the straight. The learning curve can be long, but the results are amazing. There's also that satisfying scritch, scritch sound that a nice hollow ground blade makes. I've been straight shaving for a while now (and did when I was a teenager, too) and am still learning. Have you checked out the noob section on SRP?

Okay, gotta fly back to the salt mine. Have a great afternoon everybody!

    How about:
I got it in a PIF week
    My favorite stuff week

I'll add PIF Week, but I think Favorite stuff week would be the same or replace my favorite setup week.

Looks good and comprehensive. It's going to be a tough choice again.

Trying to give the whole thing a fair shake, but it's starting to lose some of the fun that the initial few shaves had, and the results are getting consistently worse. I'm sure it's a technique thing, but it's going to slowly become technique and maintenance combined, and I think the maintenance part of it is becoming a turn off. The simplicity of replacing a DE blade with a fresh one or rotating razors continues to hold a strong appeal. I'll keep giving the straights a go, but I won't be disappointed if it doesn't pan out for me. If nothing else, it'll save me from an expensive AD. :D

Just checking in before I take off, I should be back later (assuming I don't get eaten alive by bugs that I am now a lure for...)

Pam... interesting that you mention the LT NEW, that is what I did the nick with!

I wouldn't think a soap would work, but an aftershave milk or splash may.

    :happy088
Yep, I was planning on asking you about that.

    No, not much.
    awww......I sorry. :agelic13:agelic13

    I can sympathize with that!

My new favorite. I really liked it. Skin feels nice after a crappy shave thanks to using a Dorco blade. Now I have to try to use it with one of my old splashes to make sure the allantoin in the splash wasn't responsible.

Wow what an icy blast too. First time I've used a cream that was actually cold to shave with. It was all I wanted Noxzema shave lather to be!
