    okay, quick question:
in Micheal Bay's storyline, the Allspark cube releases power which turns mechanical things into transformers - got it, simple enough to accept.
however, everything that gets "zapped", turns into a menacing, destructive robot, IE decepticon-ish......so, it's easy enough to create a huge decepticon army, BUT....where do the autobots come from?
I mean, the phone, the soda machine, the xbox all turned into road-raged critters with no outside influence of "we're going to use the allspark and create a "bad" robot", they just were naturally.

any thoughts or answers? is there only a limited supply of good guys? while the bad guys can multiply infinitely, a'la the gremlins? notice there only Gizmo was good, all the others were automatically bad...

    just doesn't make sense

    oh terrific:

    Peanut butter: Check!
    Honey : Check!
    Graham crackers: ....
    graham crackers: .....
    Bueller?

where the heckes are the graham crackers! dang it, and I already mixed the PB & honey....oh well

I'm thinking the answer lies in "nature vs. nurture" arguments. It could be that all transformers are born "with sin" and through careful raising and teaching, and whatall the autobots bring them up to be good.

so, you theorize there are both elements of psychology and religion...
    interesting...

That, or it could just be that it's more convenient to the purpose of having things go all splodey and pew-pew lazerbeamy if there is a preponderance of badguys.

yeah, come to think of it, it's probably that second thing.

I think you're mixing apples and oranges. recall that nature v. nurture does not involve sin per se, but rather directly addresses the development of moral character. the nature side argues that morality is inborn, while the nurture side argues for a tabula rasa state where experience creates the character.

sin is generally a religious concept... blah, blah, blah

I'm overthinking it. I think the real problem lies with Michael Bay and his desire to sell a movie to american teens, who in turn like to watch stuff blow up. So if the event leads to blowing stuff up, it's good and Michael Bay films it. If not, it ends up on the cutting room floor. :D

You have no idea how long I've wanted to use this picture somewhere, anywhere even. But with the Transformers talk, the time is now.

Why yes, my life is now complete. Thanks for asking.

Or could it be that the items generally seen becoming animated such as the phone, the xbox, and the soda machine are generally things that are bad for you or corrupt you in some way, and the anthropomorphic realization would naturally be evil. Since we're surrounded in every day life by these trappings, it would only be natural that the majority of the mechanical objects that the Allspark would touch would be objects of sin or vice.

Or it's Michael Bay's failed swipe at rampant commercialism in a movie that is barely more than a 2 hour commercial for GM.

Are you sure this isn't the meaning of life?

ooh. that's a penalty of some sort. and we all know that every answer to every question involves Christopher Walken somehow. oh, and Chuck Norris.

no, the answer doesn't involve Chuck Norris, the answer IS Chuck Norris - and so is the question

Well... to think... she is still winning awards!

No need to send the rescue party. 2 hours of room cleaning completed. Just scratching the surface at this point. However, that is all that my back and her patience can handle for one day.
