actually, I keep thinking about this idea, and the more I think about it, the more I like it.

as for what you can say and not say, I like that, but I'd expand it, too:
*If you couldn't wear it in public in 1950....
*If it wasn't publicly acceptable...(this is not referencing moral/ethical wrongs - this is along the lines of you don't get away with disrespecting parents/authorities, rampant drug use, etc.)
*If it looks absolutely illogical/unbelievable.... (not meaning poor SFX, meaning there's no way a sub-compact car can do 180 MPH, jump a truck, ram through a wall, and still keep going)
...don't do it!
I'm sure there are more, but that's off the cuff...

Okay, I know this ad is really sexist, but I like the point they're making here... not about the wife's inability to drive, but about how easy/cheap it is to fix a VW Beetle. Do you think carmakers will ever return to this kind of sensibility?

okay, I'm about ready to upgrade my home desktop to a quad-core AMD....
the only problem I can see is that I'll also need a new motherboard....and RAM

I'm mainly interested in ripping my DVDs much more efficiently, rather than taking hours.
I only have 3 movies on my hard drive for my WDTV, it just takes too frikkin' long!
my laptop's a dual core, but....ooh, wait, I haven't tried since I upgraded to windows 7...probably won't make a difference, but I gotta try it

now, I don't want to be called "elitist" by "some people" who "hate Gillette products" and "love boar brushes" :happy102 so I think I need to clarify.

There's a big difference between junk food and garbage. I like junk food. I think it's a necessary part of my diet. After all, Dr. Nick said so so it has to be true. Anyway, I like junk food movies.

But I hate garbage movies. Think abou it... who really wants to consume garbage? A lot of today's movies straddle the line between junk food and garbage. I haven't seen transformers so I can't say where it falls BUT I have seen Star Wars Ep. 1 and I do hate Jar Jar. Any movie with characters that can be compared to jar jar has a strong possibility of being garbage. They decreased jar jar appearances in the next two films in that trilogy and they were much more garbarific than the first one. So Jar Jar's presence does not garbage make. But his presence can be a strong indicator of the existence of garbage cinema. A visual cue that corresponds to the horrible stench emitted by trash heaps in real life.

and yes, clips like those must stay. they're definitely junk food.
