Can't complain bout much Dom. Doesn't do any good anyway. Starting my 7 days off today. Beautiful day here so far, looks to be nice all day.

Enjoy the weather for me. We're back to constant rain again. Any big plans for your time off (and for the 4th)?

I'm doing okay. Had a rough week, but things are looking up. Got a really nice package from Bong two days ago that helped with that. HP will also be repairing my netbook under warranty (again) for a fried MoBo. I'm going to see if I can get them to upgrade my unit to something newer so I don't have this problem again as soon as my warranty is up.

After all the trouble you went through to help me with the girlfriend's laptop, I think she'll be replacing it. She has realized it's close to its end and thinks it will be worth it to just get a new one. Fine with me.

 

got a question for y'all:

Dom sent me a bunch of samples, one of which was the infamous Noxema lather cream.

Naturally, that's the one I've loved most so far. Are there any equivalents to that cream still on the market?

I can think of a number of creams that lather and shave as well. Unfortunately, I cannot think of any off the top of my head that smell like it.

JoAnna might have a blend similar in scent. Her shaving cream doesn't work for me, but almost everyone I've heard reviews from get rich protective lather from it. Might definitely be worth trying.

 

Sorry about the rain there Dom. Nothing really planned for the weekend. The local towns have been hit hard with the economy and have canceled their fireworks shows. :mad: Luckily my kids are all teens so it won't be too bad.

For all the bad talk about HP, I do have to admit that their warranty service is pretty good, once you make it past the script readers that is. I've toyed with the netbook idea myself. Can't decide between a Lenovo or MSI Wind, so I haven't made the jump.

Good to hear about the girlfriend wanting to upgrade. Makes it easier for you for the next year when she does.

I originally wanted an HP netbook, I prefer HP when it comes to printers and portable computers, but the Acer and Asus have most of the highest reviews, and besides, can't beat the price for mine

A large discount helps for sure. The layout of Acer's touchpad keys ruled them out for me. I actually have 2 Asus eee pc's in house right now, and they both need to be sent in for warranty repair. I just haven't dealt with Asus before and have to be in the right frame of mind to place the call and talk to level 1 support.

I really have no need for a netbook, but they are nice to carry on repair calls. My choice for the MSI and Lenovo were only because of their easier OS X setup.

Bill, sorry about the 4th festivities. I am shocked that it has gotten that bad there. There are plenty of stuff in Lake and Porter County, IN if you want to cross the state line.

I used to love my HP equipment. However, with each purchase in the last 15 years it has felt that the quality control has gone out the window. The HP printers at work won't self feed papers, there are constant printing problems, etc...

So... Jim... What is the final price of that Acer One after your program is over. Maybe I don't want to know....

Not to discount JoAnna's fine creams, but keep an eye on this thread. I sent Irena a sample to analyze.

when I posted the pics last night, they showed up fine on my laptop, but when I checked in this morning from my desktop, I couldn't see anything either, so I can now understand the problem
that's still weird though, I'll have to check again from my laptop later
