Yeah thats kinda what I am thinking of doing this year instead of traveling somewhere. Rain Forest still there as far as I know (so loud in there, scares me). If you ever do the zoo again in DFW go to the Fort Worth Zoo, much better than the Dallas Zoo.

    LOL....

um... yeah... I am going on a trip this weekend too.. I pulled my razor out of my travel kit for non-vintage week. I need to make sure I put that back. I will be at a family thing down in Hamilton, Ohio so I won't have the chance to go look for stuff. I think.....

yeah, we've been to both, FW much, much better zoo
of course, the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans is even better, but too far for a weekend trip....I wonder if it's still there after Katrina...

It's still there and doing quite nicely. Alexandria also has a zoo- but it's greatness lies in its close proximity to my home. We can go there just as it opens at 9 and be home for naptime (between 10 and 11). So it wouldn't be worth travelling hours to see.

yeah, we have the Tyler zoo that's a day trip away, but not very awesome. Still, it's a nice zoo, but the kids got spoiled at Audubon and Forth Worth...unfortunately, their minds were warped and tainted about Fort Worth, since apparently a Barney episode was filmed there :scared011

    Hey Dom!

speaking of :scared011, where the heck has Jen been lately?
also, since that smiley is so associated with her (in my mind, anyway), I vote we name it :jen: :D

It's my hope that Jen is having a super fabulous summer of interning, making big bucks and kicking some D&D butt. I like to imagine that she's having too much fun to hang out with us old farts...

Still, I miss the little booger!

Hope everyone's having a good evening. We took my son to the ER last night and again this afternoon. Poor guy's got an 8mm kidney stone. It's his second one in two years.

You know, my son (21) is a totaly D&D fanatic. He's also about Jen's age. Hmmmm.... (sorry Jen, if you read this - I really won't try to set you up with my son; promise). :scared011

P.S. to Dom: I'm really going to respond to your email soon, honest I will!

hey dom. I'm continuing to enjoy the samples you sent me. I just finished the last of the noxema lather, which I absolutely loved, and have moved on to the salter's.

I think I liked the noxema for its scent. other creams seem to lather just as well, but nobody else has that scent.

eesh. barney'll do that to you. that's one of the children's shows that's on our banned list. the US of A may be a democracy, but my home sure isn't.

I'm guessing Jen's too busy to mess with the likes of us. I do miss her d&d commentary.

What's the treatment for an 8mm kidney stone? Do they have to do that ultrasound stuff, or can it pass on its own?

yeah, barney was banned here too, by me, to my wife's chagrin, but she supported that as it was about my only request...however, grandparents don't usually pay attention to kingdom rules :o
but, seeing as it was the mother-in-law who did it, I smelled coup d'état, but what could I do?

ah yes... it was funny today when my daughter (now 9) was talking about how badly her grandmother spoils her and just gives her cookies all the time. Yeah... we knew it!

on another note... Eric, I was just getting used to your new avatar and now your switching back? Or was it just on FB that you changed.. ?

It's called Lithotripsy, or ESWL. Chris tells me it feels like being punched in the back and abdomen a few times, but it's much less painful than the asteroid trying to find it's way down the nanotube.

Docs say that the "safe" time for living with a kidney stone is up to 8 weeks, although there is only so much Hyrocodone in the Universe... I'm hoping they'll be smashing it into teensy bits in under two weeks.

    That's what grandparents are for!

I liked the old Eric better than the new Eric. I'm glad the old Eric is back...
