Sorry things are going to be so hectic for you and Doug. I still don't know how bad my fall is going to get. But I am probably in the same boat. School during day, at least two therapy appointments with daughter during week. Looks like she is going to continue doing TOPS Soccer and will be picking up Special Olympics Bowling and Swimming. Wife will be taking classes two nights of the week, and it is curriculum revision year at school.

When there was more action it was better... but when it started turning all human interest plot lines and the darker evils within and all the anxiety and episode after episode of nothing getting resolved, I tuned out.

I grew up watching the original Star Trek series on re-runs. However when the Next Generation came out, I wasn't watching much TV. When Deep Space 9 and Voyager came out, they were shown at times where I couldn't watch and didn't care enough to try to watch. I watched Enterprise and it was good for the first two seasons. However, it fell into the same story lines and extended plot lines that plagued BSG. Its funny, at one point in my life, people probably thought I was a Trekie; however, I could care less about the whole thing now. I did not see, and I have no intention of ever seeing the new movie.

The acting on BSG is atrocious. The first season I didn't mind so much because it was something new and different to watch, but the characters became very grating, that along with the abysmal acting I just couldn't take it any more.

that pretty much mirrors my Star Trek experience, except I never watched more than a very few of the newer ones.
I'll probably watch the new movie, though.

I loved the latest Star Trek movie. Was prepared to hate it but was pleasantly surprised. I watched every episode of the original series when it first aired (except the pilot) and loved every one. Couldn't hardly stand to wait a whole week for a new episode. It was a socially radical tv show at the time, but was full of great ideals. The new movie is not the original series, but it's still great in it's own way. Of course, YMMV; no warranties implied or expressed; dealer may roll back the odometer before you see it, etc.

Well... as usual, we have managed to demonstrate that we are all just a bunch of geeks/nerds. Personally, I don't have a problem with that, but I need to start getting on a sleeping schedule or the 4AM alarm will be killing me by the end of the week. See y'all at some point in the future (without the need of a star trek alternate time line/dimension)

note to all: when you've been out doing yardwork all afternoon, and gouge your hand when throwing cut-off branches, DO NOT forget about said gouge when it comes time to apply aftershave!

    We are nerds.

    I hate Battlestar Galactica.

Sorry to hear that, Jim. Hope that hand heals up. I actually used after shave to treat some wounds when I fell off my bike a couple months ago.

    That is all.

That's kind of the attitude with which my dog looks at me when I fix a vegetarian meal. :D

This geek is going to grab a lemonade popsicle. Yum!

BTW, I know this is off-topic, but I had a great shave late this evening. Face lathered some Tabac with my old VDH boar (I'm jonesing for my Semogue 2000). It was a very pleasant experience. The aftermath: now I smell like Brut. ;)

I have returned from a pleasant visit with my family in their respective locations.
This has definitely turned out to be a good birthday weekend.
Hopefully it has set the precedent for the rest of the year.

    "Jerk: Bridge to engineering.

    Jerk: What's not there Snotty?
Snott: I said 'Snott here', Captain.
Jerk: Snotty, give me full power, get us out of here fast.
Snott: Ach, I can'ta do it, the toilets have backed up into the warp drive it'll take time to make repairs. "

now that would be interesting- an opposite world HYD thread. I suppose I'd be an outspoken and obnoxious militant athiest in that world.

moral= quit doing yard work. might interfere with shaving.

Well, I'm going to take a little break from posting ONS I think... with school starting this week, it's just too much.

Plus, there's a little something extra there.
