He probably just doesn't get it. You need to have a few screws loose and be at least ONS to truly get ONS... which is why it works so well on the HYD crew.

Very nice... bet if Verizon had it, they would just strip it down to only being able to do Verizon applications. Come on providers, somebody else get signal in my building!

I use to have a cappuccino maker that I used.. It was awful; however, my wife got it for me and I faithfully used it for years until my wife said that I was more than welcome to use something that wasn't loud and messy (in other words... something that didn't wake her up in the morning). The only things it was good for was really good hot chocolate (or similar adult versions).. Terrible for coffee and the like...

 

Okay audio[slash]nerds[/slash]philes, I've got a quarstshunferya.

My beloved Panasonic RP-HS6-S clip-on earbuds have gone dead in one ear. These things are generally pretty awesome. they sport a frequency response range of 10Hz-25kHz and sound wonderful.

In looking for these, I found that probably 99% of all the (budget minded) earbuds on the market only have a frr of 20Hz-23kHz. I'll be using mine primarily with the delightful and technically spectacular creative Zen.

My question is 3-fold:

1. Why can't I find information on the actual output range of my mp3 player? (if the player only puts out 20Hz-23kHz, I don't need a lower response range in the headphones, right?)

2. Why don't more manufacturers produce the lower-range headphones?

3. Is there really that much difference in the sub $20 headphones? Or for that matter is that really that much difference between a $10 pair and a $60 pair?

because of your recommendation, I went and bought some of these, and I have to say for sub-$10 earphones, they are great. I use them when mowing the yard because they stay in my ear and have quite good sound.
I'm not about to take my Zune premium earbuds out to do yard work with!
I also wouldn't buy the premium headphones if they hadn't already come with the Zune 80. I love my music, and want it to sound great, but other priorities keep me from justifying the price.

So Micah, is this question about replacing the earphones with different ones, or just general observations?

Well, I need new earphones, obviously. I'm on the fence over whether I should just replace with the same or get something different for a change.

 

okay, that's what I was curious about

 

I've actually contemplated resoldering the connections in these to see if it would work, but I fear the issue lies within the wire, not the connection.
