I've been to Lake Fort Smith State Park, but haven't been to Fort Smith before, though I did go to college with some girls from Fort Smith :drool

this has been a not-fun week. stomach virus hits my kids school. do they get sick? no. :happy108 a little time goes by. at approx. 2am Monday morning, the Virus From Heck (VFH) makes its presence known through my wife. I stay home from work one and a half days to keep the wheels from falling off at home. I make plans to return to work. VFH then migrates over to me. I spend most of an evening getting to know the porcelain fixtures in our bathrooms quite well. :mad:
then it seems to clear up. I make plans to return to work again. and then, there's this ice cream in the fridge. it sounds so good and I haven't wanted to eat in so long that I scarf it down. with fudge topping. my stomach did not like this. :mad:
so now things are staying put in my stomach again. use this as a cautionary tale- respect your tummies, 'cause it really hurts when they're upset.

 

I think so. But I won't be eating ice cream for some time.

 

one of my rules of thumb: when the VFH invites itself over, no dairy for a week afterwards. Learned that the hard way as you did.
One exception: yogurt.
I firmly believe yogurt has helped my family not get the VFH as much or as aggressively as in the past. It may have something to do with the bacteria in yogurt, maybe the nutrients specific to yogurt, or maybe all psychological - I don't care, as long as it helps. It really seems, though, that when the bug is going around, if we're all eating yogurt daily, it either misses us or only gets a glancing blow. The times we've gotten the uppercut have been times we've noticed (after the fact of course) we haven't been diligent in our yogurt consumption. Coincidental perhaps, but maybe not.
We don't eat yogurt if we have the bug, but once it starts to pass, we start having a little at a time. Or if we know the bug is starting to go around, we make dern sure we've got plenty on hand.
Hate that VFH - I like that acronym, btw.

 

yeah, I'm not a big fan of it either, but I can deal with yogurt better than I can VFH

My dad was career military. I think I get the acronym thing from my youth as an authentic Army brat.
