What did you think of the Marmite and the puMpkin granola?

    pumpkin granola = awesome!

pumpkin butter = awesome! put some on a sweet potato waffle with some peanut butter and maple syrup....good golly gee, make your tongue slap your brains out! (sorry, one of my dad's sayings :D)

marmite = takes some getting used to. first taste was a taste-bud culture shock, as I didn't know what to expect. second bite was better. kinda made me think of what beef bullion cubes syrup would taste like (don't ask how I know what plain beef bullion cube tastes like :ashamed001 - I'll just say I was young, and my uncle was very influential on me at that point, being he's only 4 years older than me)

apparently I'm one of the 3 people on the fence about it, I don't hate it, but I don't love it right now, though I think it could grow on me :D

I am on vacation as of 5:45pm this evening. This state will persist until Oct. 26th at 8am when I return to work. So the wife and I killed 3/4th of a bottle o' wine with some tasty wisconsin cheese, watched some CSI, and now I'm posting on TSD. Pardon my odd sense of humor.

so we can ask about the panties, correct? Are they lacey cover nothing kind or the come up to the navel cover everything kind?

Is that a stress thing or a sickness thing? Either way, prayers...

Are we brushing up on our NLP?

    sounds cool

    yeup.....
well, let's just say there's not enough material to make an effective eye patch....

lots of stress added onto pre-existing sinus issues
I think for the most part the issue has been smoothed over, received a tiny bit of reprieve for a charge against me, but not a full on "I made a mistake" type deal, but enough for me to drop that part - and I fully owned up to the first part, so no hangups there. but like I said, been in talks with the gentleman, one of the top gentlemen on the boards that I've interacted with, so now it's move-on time, and that's the last I'd like to speak of it.
I'll probably only be playing over here now, though, at least for a while

    funny story:

so my son's been taking an interest in my shaving gear. Tonight he was respectfully playing with my two brushes. That's right, I only own two.

One is a $35 C&E pure badger. the other is a $6.50 generic boar Calvin gave to me for my b-day. Anyway, so I decided to take the brushes and show him how I lather with them. This involved pretend lathering on his face with both brushes. Afterwards I asked him, "which is softer?" He points to the boar brush.

That can't be right, I thought, so I tested it out. Turns out he's pretty much dead on. The two are close to neck and neck in the softness category- but the $6.50 boar beats out my $35 badger. Now, water and lather retention are a different topic-but I'll be honest and say I never saw this coming. I thought all those boar fans on this board were fanatics.

    Shows what I know.

Not really surprising for a boar and pure badger. :)

    yes, but not from here...
have fun and be careful. say hello to the quadrillion massive signs along I-10 on the way to Biloxi. I'd hate to see what their advertising fund shows for those signs alone!

and now, for the rather odd category...

We are fanatics.. throw in the SE thing and some of us are down right scary I am sure.

It is great to hear that Young Master P is taking intrest. That is what I call quality time. Makes me jealous of you guys with sons.

yeah, pure badger is pretty stiff, though it does soften up a good bit. I got a pure badger knot for a handle I restored awhile back, and it could actually become my favorite brush...good "backbone", but really soft tips, really nice brush, but I think I'm going to sell it soon

I had this. It's Fine grade (brain has melted for the day. is fine and best the same?). It was awful. The Tweezerman, and VDH boar, were better.

Now OTOH, my Knotty Badger in Best is different. Amazing backbone, but super soft tips.

the link doesn't come through in your post unless you quote said post.

that said, the listing doesn't state the brush grade. pure badger? best badger?

I probably shoulda said that prior to the badger brush I had a vulfix boar that was super ultra stiff. It never softened up in the year I used it. The pure badger was exactly what I was looking for in terms of scratchy and firm yet with good lather holding properties.

But if I'd had this boar back then I might never have bought it. Go figure.

and yeah, I am a fanatic I suppose. I should also mention the Damaskene Calvin gave me has been shaving like a dream. Much better than the featherweight GEM I used every now and then.

you made me go back and look at my order history at goldennib - my mistake, it was a 22mm finest badger knot. It's been a great brush
