I feel like I am finally starting to feel better. Good stuff. I actually have a bit of energy for the first time in a week. :) Still a ways to go, but progress feels great!

Beautiful day out here. I might have to head out to the hammock with a book. After football. :D
Doug, any flex on that bow? Looking forward to seeing more.

True story. I've noticed that too. I find myself using open combs and SEs more and more recently.
I just think that the head is cool. Something different, so I just want to have one. I haven't seen one sell too expensive either, so if you keep your eye out they are attainable. I guess it is a mix of curiosity and "thrill of the hunt" for me. But yeah, a double ring at a decent price would work for me too. I don't use Old Types often, but I wouldn't turn a DR down. ;) I really want a heavily brassed and tarnished bell end aristocrat. ;)

Good to hear Rodd. Hope you keep improving fast. It is a great day here in South Louisiana. Been out doing some up keep on a friends car. Can't bend and pull to change a tire but it was easy to plug it then drive it to get the air. Had a good el cheapo cigar and some great coffee... The Bunny is Gooooodddddd.

I am going to talk a little more shaving in here. Have you shaved with a Single ring yet? I have a 1909. I think it is my favorite of all the DE stuff.. better then my OLDs even.

I suppose a loaner could be sent out... Bill has one you could borrow. ;)

Yup... we do tend to work like that... If nothing else, we tend to prefer 3 piece to TTO. Was getting icky shaves earlier in the week from the T2 (birthdate) adjustable that I acquired when I first started this. However, after 3 shaves it was time to move on. I still likey the feather portable that I had to knock dust off of the case. Very good shaves from it.

well, one class down and 4 to go... woopie.

maybe I should knock some dust off a Single Ring now that Fuzzy brings it up and maybe an open comb-slant for next week as well.

I've got a serious SR/DR jones going. Probalby just because I've never tried one. "The shave is always closer with the razor I don't have yet."

Morning everyone. Up for a couple of lazy hours now; Aeropressed some coffee, had breakfast and am catching up in here. Gotta put the old truck out in the street today so I can get to my half of the garage before the snow flies. Ol' Betty's got a blown intake manifold gasket. She's a 96 GMC and that's an 8 to 10 hour job for a good mechanic. She's gonna sit awhile longer...

In other news, it's a lovely day here. The big winds have subsided and it's a sunny, crisp fall day. Gotta fix pens, gotta fix pens, gotta fix pens!

She is most definatly lucky lol

If any of you guys wanna try the SR we can send mine around. It will be probably next saturday before I can mail it out. It can go to one for a week or whatever then to someone else if need be.

Oh and Tom why don't you work on some pens.

Hey all! Just a quick drive by post.

    Jason, take care of yourself.

Fuzzy, glad to hear you are healing up.

Rodd, good to hear you have rounded the corner too. In answer to your question, both of my Shave Kings have aluminum handles.

there's something to be said about being able to wash your car...

    ...in November...

    ...and break a sweat...

...and that "something to be said" is, only in Texas!

I thought about getting it, but then I have one or two already. So, there really was not a point in getting another one.

Perhaps we are all hoping our wives/SOs will bring one home for us like yours did. :D

About half way done with grading.. I am seriously thinking about finishing this class, killing this annoying fly, and going out to an antique store (to not look at razors, but FP)

That was one of those things that will never happen again, and should not have happened in the first place. She honestly had no idea what she had bought. Luckily, the guy that sold it to her had no idea either!!

Its been a quite night... so I guess I will gripe about the FP run.

I never saw much in the lines of FP around here in antique stores around here that impressed me. However, having used FP for a little bit and having learned more about brands and what to look for, I went looking. Ugh, the antique market around here is crazy. No brand FP with broken caps and missing nibs are listed at $40. A parker with a missing cap and nib with tines bent in opposite directions with half of the tip missing was $185. Most of the pens were missing their nibs or had damage. And yet, the prices were way too high. Makes me sad that I hadn't put higher bids on a few restored Esterbrooks this afternoon. Oh well... I guess if I am going to get a vintage pen, it will probably be through eBay or the classifieds at FPN.

I am bored, so I just rearranged my shaving shelf and moved some soaps in/out of rotation. Just cuz....

We watched Gremlins tonight with daughter. Wife and I both cringed when the girl was talking about how her dad died in the chimney and she found out there was no SC. Went right over daughter's head... whew....
