Double Arrow - it is brand of mid value straight razors.. Better than the cheapo zeepk but not anywhere near the league of the better tier of razors. It was my 1st straight and for some reason I grabbed it this morning instead of the Genco or Twinplex.

 

Oh yeah, I had one a while back. Did not really care for it. But then again, I only had a couple Bokers, and Puma, and a Griffon to compare it to.

 

Well yes, if I had those to compare it to, I wouldn't bother with the Double Arrow. But it only cost me shipping and it was my first straight (that and it had been modified with new scales and some work done to improve the edge). So I can't complain about it. It did well enough to keep me into straights enough to pick up some more and use a straight once a week or so. For some reason I felt like going back to it this morning. Shoulda grabbed the Genco. Oh well... lessons learned.

 

Yeah, those SR's are something that you really need to use often to really get good shaves. I can never get anything better than okay around me Adams Apple with one.

 

yup... I got better shaves when I used them daily over the summer. I just don't trust myself to use them at 4:30 AM on a workday. So now they are weekend shavers. Oh well.... I guess I need to pick something mild to shave with the next few days.. Shave King, Tech, Weishi, New Tuckaway.. hmmmmm

I have way too many razors. And yet I still feel the urge to buy more. I did give in the other day and pick up something off of the Bay. So silly of me. I need to stop that.

hey, did you buy a razor while on vacation like me? The wife didn't quite know how to react in my case. She didn't get mad like I thought she would, though.

In related news, I have an MP R89 with a funny finish (gunmetal) headed my way now. yay me!

awesome. drove past your hometown today on the way back from Thibodaux. Where do you live in Jeanerette? Near I-90?

I couldn't have stopped today (wife + kids in the car and you were probably sleeping anyway) but might be able to in the future.

 

Well if you don't like the gunmetal finish...

No... I didn't pick up any razors while on vacation. I actually picked up one of the small travel razors (2 piece handle where one part slides into the other and it all fits in a 1.75 X 1.75 case (with an OC DE head).
