So driving home last night in the snow, wind, and slush and go through the little town of Argo. Now just as usually, I start singing to myself Leslie Fish's "Argo’s Fire-Breathing Daughter".. http://www.songworm.com/lyrics/songworm-parody/ArgosFireBreathingDaughter.html which is just another version of Leslie Fish's "Banned from Argo" http://www.filk.com/songs/BANNED FROM ARGO _THE ORIGINAL.htm

    anyway... ice.. argo... hmmmmmm...

Today's shave: Iced Arko! :D thanks for the constructs for the "ice" Jason

My uncle, long gone now, had an old station wagon. He glued a little sticker to the dashboard that said simply ARGO. When I asked him why it was there he said "ARRRR Go F*** Yourself!". :happy102 It was something he said regularly to other drivers while on the road. I thought it was amazingly funny, but maybe you had to know him to really see the humor.

Anyway, his elderly wife (my dear aunt) still drives the old station wagon. She's a good catholic girl and wouldn't curse if her life depended on it. Occasionally she asks me why he put that sticker there and what it means. I always have to come up with some story about Jason and the Argonauts. Maybe the "Banned from Argo" song (small bits of it) will help the next time I have to explain it to her...:D

I am on vacation from work for the last week and up to Jan. 9 so I am at home enjoying the bratty 2 year old and absence of the jerky preteen.

Hope everyone had a joyous Christmas. Going to go see my little Moi's video now.

    oh and go Mizzou

oh and you are right Moi, Cade splash is no where to be found on their site. Might have to run up to L'O today.

I'm tired today. I've worked 7 twelve hour night shifts in the last 9 days and had the inlaws at my house the other 2 days.

I got a brand new lathe last week, I had opportunity to play with it for a couple of hours, and I've been away from it since. I've been researching the aitchee-ell-ell out of turning and parts for lathes, etc. I'm just as confused as I was when I started... and I'm anxious as all get out to get back to the lathe so I can play. I got more Christmas money, so I'm probably going to buy a small bench grinder for sharpening my tools, and I can't decide if I should jump on the 49.99 bench drill press at HF, or if I should just invest in a drill chuck for my lathe (I'm leaning toward this). I just don't know what to do. I can't sleep at night because I'm turning handles in my head... all the way down to applying the finish! And I'm exhausted. I'm probably going home tomorrow, but I found out the weather is supposed to be pretty bad (which means I won't likely be able to work at the lathe...no heat in the barn. :( )

    morning everyone...

day 4? 5? I have lost track of the headache continues.. at least daughter isn't playing drums yet today....

I was surprised by that game last night. I figured between Favre and Cutler, and the cold weather, it would go down in history as the game with the most interceptions ever. Oh well... still a good game (which it didn't look like it would be during the 1st half).

Oh well, gonna finish off the coffee mug and then squish my head in some pillows again..

skip the drill press. Its a pain to drill straight with that. Go for the lathe drill thing. Its not to hard to make the parts are all over the net.

Morning fellas. Looks like you guys have been unusually quite in here lately. What gives?

Me? Work, work, work. Same as always. I was given confirmation yesterday that I will be going to Remington, VA next week. Six months being away from the kids all week sucks!! The thing is this time, the townhouse that the company has down there is already full. So I have to find a place down there myself. Seems like the cheapest thing to do would be to find someone in the area that would just rent a room to me. Any suggestions?

Oh well, I am off to work. Ya'll have a safe NY's.
