oh heckes yeah...Micah was there with me at the previous place - it was always very good, but there for a few dark months it was, well....dark. You only felt appreciated by the people that knew what was going on in the background and truly empathized with you. I hadn't always been that way - I mean, yeah, there are always people who have no sense of appreciation or courtesy, and far too often that seems the norm - but .......ehh, I'd better quit. Things aren't so bad now, at all, but I'm still happier where I'm at, as is Micah.

Dangit! Now I've gotta go and find a new gas company to be loyal to, since my current one has betrayed me...

 

I picked up an adapter of some kind off of them for a ? once upon a time. Price was cheap and the shipping wasn't bad. It just took a long time to arrive (slow boat from China as it were).

I am sick of dealing with bluetooth adapters. I picked up some cheap ones between a pair of different companies. They all work perfect in this computer. However, the included software (when there was any) would claim that it wasn't a licensed copy of the software. I kept getting into a mess in Windows 7 where the only way to get the adapter to work was to use the full version of the bundled software. At that point, it would have been cheaper to just go to the local best buy, staples, etc.. and pick up whatever full price BT adapter they had on the shelf.

I never did get BT to work properly on wife's netbook. And yet I have a nice BT mouse for her that is now on my computer.

 

yeah, I'm not a big fan of bluetooth. it has a few benefits, but mostly major PITA

 

dagnabit! yet another "PC LOAD LETTER" moment.....

 

OK... so Micah's Deal Extreme question made me go look at their site and immediately an item popped up that I have been thinking about. Any of you techies have any experience with the little USB sound adapters? Work laptop has the only audio connection in the front of the laptop, so I have to plug in the room sound system to the front of the laptop which puts that cable in the way.

 

Anyone up for a little light reading?

 

I've never used one, though I have been interested in trying one, just to see.
I don't have my hopes very high for them, but for machines with no sound card, or an integrated sound card that's gone out, it should meet the "it'll do" quota.
