No.... I think you just triggered the Coyote signal instead..

After finding no scent of trouble, the ghost coyote stealthily switches the backward writing on the moon light off and lurks back into the shadows.

All this talk about dressing up and bats seems like a perfect excuse to post this again:

Well.. its better that than nothing. Although I do need to find some lighter weight material for these humid summer months. And we aren't even to the solstice yet!

Hmmm... I hate it when I miss out on Micah's posts. I will have to try to check in tonight.

    New review just went up!

I'm really curious to see what you all think about this one...in my head, it sounds very clear, but I'm afraid it might not read that way.

you wrote "video gallery", so i assumed you were talking about some place in TXK...until yesterday evening we were going to walmart and my daughter hollered "why is movie gallery closing?!"
and i thought 'well crap', that's the last video rental store in town, along with subway closing for no apparent reason.
now if you want to rent a movie i guess it's that thing at walmart, or micah's house :rofl
and i'll pass on the walmart thing...i guess no more movie renting for us; we don't rent enough to justify netflix, and i tried using the machine at walmart, too complex and the few movies i was interested in weren't available anyway.

    oh well

it was pretty clear to me, too. It helps if you've seen the movie.

I disliked that movie. Thought it meandered all over the place and spent next to no time on the main plot. I sat down to watch a murder-mystery movie and boy was I disappointed. It would have helped if I had known Altman's directing style beforehand. I've seen another of his movies since then (Prairie Home Companion) and I now know he's just not my kind of director.

I liked your review. You were trying to replicate the rambling, ADD quality of the film, right? If so, you got it.

yeah. the machines stink. when we've used them all they have is obscure indie-movies and chick flicks. We watch t.v. via netflix dvds so it pays off for us.

if we were closer to Micah I think we'd go that route.

    I'll be danged! I did, didn't I? Oops.

Exactly. I was trying to make it as close to his style as possible. Steer clear of M*A*S*H if you don't like his style, because it has it in spades.

    Wow, my reputation precedes me.

You would be very surprised, I think. All the episodes of Lost I've seen has been through Netflix watch instantly, and DVDs. I don't think I could have put up with that show on network tv. And now most tv series I watch through Netflix, so I can watch them at my leisure and not worry about missing any episodes.

No late fees, your own mailbox, a HUGE list of movies and tv shows, and reasonable monthly prices are putting movie rental stores out of business. Those Red Boxes at Wal-Mart are about the only way to stay competitive with Netflix. And even that is poor competition, if you ask me. I don't want to run to Wal-Mart every day.

Not sure, but I don't think Netflix does contracts or anything. You should try them.

that's just it, we don't spend $15 on renting videos in 3-4 months, much less every month; not really fiscally viable, unfortunately

You sure? Pardon my question, I'm just curious, but why would your daughter care if Movie Gallery was closing if you don't rent movies that often?

And Netflix starts at $9. :)

yeah, pretty sure, we haven't rented any movies since February.
and that's a legit question, and the answer is because it's such a special occasion when we do go. and it's close to our house.
and we always mention it when it's dark because some of the lights are out and it says "VIE ERY" right now :D
