So, I am standing at the counter at the very busy vets office this morning waiting to pay the $300 bill for yearly checkup, vaccinations, heatworm meds, flea meds, etc... when one of the receptionists places a reminder call for a pet named chuckle. Chuckle has a 4 PM appointment on Monday. While chuckling to myself about the name I realize that I may get a chance to meet chuckles because we are taking another pet to the vet on Monday at the same time. When I get home, I found a message on my voicemail from the vet's reminding me about Chuckle's appointment on Monday. LOL... I guess I didn't speak "Charcoal" clearly when I set the appointment.

    that reminds me of something....

EDIT: Was trying to find the clip of Steve Gilliland describing his encounter at a post office where the clerk didn't believe who he was so she called the number on his business card or something, and so everyone else in the PO is watching a conversation happen

Ummmm... I don't know why I had a mental block on Micah's new avatar, but for some reason I kept reading it as Real Men KN it. Now I have been rolling with KN = ken as in "know". Yup... Real men know it. Works for me. It wasn't until I viewed the thread on my crudified cell phone while waiting for wife to get off work to take her to lunch that I actually read it as it was written. D'Oh!

I'm just going to come right out and say it...

I'm too lazy to get up and get myself something to eat, even though I'm starving.

don't forget chocolate. lunch is good, but chocolate buys forgiveness.

+1000 on the ugh. I've seen some tv during this vacation and caught an ad for the new schick hydro. Overpriced plastic junk. I don't get it. I've been using a GEM damaskene and getting the best shaves EVAR!!! My nearly 100 year old piece o' metal + a fancy paint scraper beats their hyper advertised junk hands down. I remember why we gave up cable now.

We had cats a while back. My wife let me name them. I named one cat Cthulhu. You shoulda seen the receptionist's reaction when I told her the name and then spelled it out for her. Oh, and we lived in south central mississippi at the time (down by Hattiesburg).

Oh my... You gave me the "chuckles" with the thought of a clergy's cat named Cthulhu.

    A) that's funny right thar

    B) Hattiesburg Wal Mart parking lot is a pain to get into, probably wasn't as bad back then when there wasn't construction going on.
Never was an issue til I got married, and my wife just "had" to stop at every Wal-Mart between here and Mobile her first trip down there...

Well, took daughter to city wife works in to eat a quick dinner (Subway) with wife and all of us go bowling there at that town's lanes. Got to Chesterton as storms hit. Lost rear wiper blade while waiting in the parking lot. Eventually we got out and went into Subway to wait for wife to arrive to find out there were funnel cloud spottings in the area. Lots of drama, but Subway keeps open and keeps selling food. Apparently they can't shut down and take cover unless there is a manager there. Oh well, they will probably get reamed later about the patio umbrellas that they didn't get down before the storm. Relay for life teams are also there in Subway so it is crowded and loud... Subway umbrella and Relay for Life tents are going through a weird dance in the road....

Finally about an hour later wife makes it to Subway, we eat and go bowling. The storm knocked some branches down and lots of areas without power but nothing major where we were. First frame I wrench my back. On the last frame I wrench my knee. All in all, the worst two games that I have bowled since maybe high school. But daughter had a blast and had one of her best games so it was worth it.

Then I got up this morning..... Well, I guess I won't be riding my bike this morning to get caught in a thunderstorm like yesterday. I am getting too old for this stuff.

I'm a big HP Lovecraft fan. The other cat's name was Catlick. He was all black except for a little white tab at the appropriate spot on his neck.

Oh, it was a major pain when we were there. Always full, no matter the time of day, and the twisty approach could confuse the best of drivers- and this is in MS where no one drives well.

Egads, we weren't on the first page. This simply can not be!

Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers out there!

Going to a Gary Railcats game this afternoon with an autism group for our second annual outing there. We will have a party deck, plenty of food, hopefully some good weather, and no meltdowns.

Looking for some music to work to and stumbled on this... thought you guys might like it.

Okay, so when you just want some good classical (baroque, romantic, etc.) music to rock out to, what do you queue up? Help me make an awesome playlist.

    Criteria:

Free music--I don't wanna buy anything.
Not modern--not looking for trance or techno or anything like that--I've got plenty
Polished--I don't want something that sounds like it was recorded in mom's living room.
No flying toasters--I don't want Wagner--well, okay, maybe a little Wagner, but let's keep it to a minimum.
Maybe 1 or two "slow-down" songs--Moonlight Sonata, etc.

    So what do you think?
A few songs to get us started:

    Toccatta in Fugue
    Moonlight Sonata
    Bolero
    Now you go!
