pretty much...actually, the fridge is the only place to keep it from burning

oh, and forget cold water rinses after shaving....if you plan it right, and wait til 3:00 AM to shave, you can get slightly-less-than-boiling water from the cold tap....:rofl

Well in that case I certainly won't mention our nice cloudy, cool, 80 degree day and how nice and relaxing it was. Too bad I had too many errands to enjoy it.

that's okay, it doesn't bother me...too much...but just to be sure, I won't mention that we only get an inch of snow every 7 years, and that you have to travel 3 hours north to even know what a snow shovel or blower looks like....

hope that plan worked out for you.

Busy day, but nice cool weather. Unfortunately, our next stop (leaving in just a little bit) is the waterpark where we got tickets in advance with one of daughter's groups. Of course its been in the upper 90s most of the last few weeks and it is 71 now so it may not be as enjoyable (but hey.. the thunderstorms have mostly passed...)

Besides being scalding hot here, I had a great day.
I had great lather this morning.
    A great shave followed.
A team of from our church, goes once a month to the rescue mission. I fixed a enchilada casserole, they enjoyed it very much.

    so...

the family computer is now giving me an "unmountable boot volume" error. Won't run at all, even in safe mode. I think we have the cds that came with the computer, and so maybe I can get it booted up so we can get the family pictures off of it. But if I understand correctly, this is the end of Herr Computer.

Hmmm.. I am sure that you mentioned it before, but I don't recall what version of Windows you are running. I am guessing based on the age of the machine that it is XP or Vista.

It may have to come down to completely reformatting the hard drive and then reloading from restore disks. But that would wipe out all the family pictures.

However, you may be able to fix it before going to that extreme.

If you have XP and your installation disks you can try this for XP

I have never dealt with these kind of issues with Vista (never owned a computer with vista) but it may be a similar fix.

The boot partition has probably been damaged. There are steps that can be taken to restore the boot partition table. It would also be possible to take the drive out of the computer and load it on another computer as a non-boot drive and read your files to copy them.

    oh dear...
yes, definitely try this first, I've had pretty high success rate with this, unless the hard drive had officially crashed, then it calls for more extreme steps.
Another step you may try is a Linux Live CD, and you may be able to access you pictures and copy them to a flash drive or burn to CDs.
Mounting the drive as a secondary drive is also viable option.
