Anybody else see the Aqua Velva commercial where the old guy is smiling at his *glass* bottle of Velva?

Every time that comes on, I just want to shout "LIES! DAMN LIES!" at the t.v.

No I haven't, but then I don't watch live T.V. to see commercials. I didn't even know there were Aqua Velva commercials since Pete Rose quit doing them.

Well, hit another snag in the process of trying to gather the documents needed to verify HQT status. Evidently the state just rolled our a new set of science standards. They were well hidden in a disused link at the bottom of the lavoratory page.

Well the rain clouds have passed over and there are gaps in the cloud cover. Looks like we are going to head out to see if we can see any meteors tonight. Peak was last two nights, but there should still be a fair number. I went out Thursday at 2 AM and watched for a while, but tonight I am bringing kiddo along.

I had a weird dream last night. When I woke up, what I could remember of it gave me a tremendous idea for a web comic.

What's that? You want to hear the setup? Okay, here goes:

After a series of extreme financial setbacks, Bruce Wayne is left having to take a mid-level management job, and is almost instantly reduced to being a middle-class wage-earner. He loses the manor, has to let Alfred go, and moves to the burbs.

He finds a house in Gotham Acres, a nice little community of cookie-cutter houses. He converts the basement into a gameroom/bat-basement, complete with laptop computer "with high-speed internet!" He goes around the complex "fighting evil" by way of helping housewives who's plumbers are cheating them, making sure the paperboy delivers his papers properly, ensuring that everybody is keeping community code by mowing there lawns, etc. The batmobile will be his Bruce's black minivan. He'll just slap a magnetic bat symbol on it when he goes out as Suburban Batman.

I can just see it now. Batman holding a paperboy by the collar, threatening him. Menacingly staring down the plumber, who he found by googling "discount plumbers." On his utility belt, most of the gas pellets and stuff will have been replaced with various wrenches and tools that he uses to work on stuff for the neighbors.

    What do you think?

Actually, the dream was pretty far off from that, but in a circuitous way it lead my thinking in that direction. The more I look at my setup, the more it sounds like JB&B's "Married Man" sketch.

I normally don't post in threads like this one but I had such a hectic day that I have to share.
I got up early and started on some knife blades in the workshop. Had to visit the john at around 09:00 and while I was in there the dogs went crazy outside. So I finished up and went outside to see what it was about only to find that the gate was open and the dogs was outside. When I called them back I was approaced by the bank manageress from the bank accross the street and she told me that Udo, my White Swiss shepherd had bit her. Her pants was torn pretty bad too. After I made one heck of an apology and promised to pay for any damages she agreed not to lay charges. No amount of sweet talk could however convince her to show me the wound wich was high up on the thigh:cool:. Apparently some dude mocked the dogs and then ran away when they jumped open the gate. The lady tried to get them back into the yard but Udo refused to go back without making his mark.

About two hours later my daughter's Wiener dog had a stroke right in front of the workshop. I did not realise exactly what happened but grabbed it and jumped in the car to take her to the vet but she was dead before I got out of the driveway. I took her to the state vet who is a personal friend for an autopsy and actually assisted and for the first time in my life saw what it looks like inside a dog!

I'm a wee bit worried cause these kinda things tend to happen in three's..................................

My days have been filled with stress. I am a sound engineer and I subcontract to another company in my area. I also work for him in his shop doing prep work for large events, building audio cables and much more. Lately he has turned into a jerk and cut my shop wages from $18 an hour to $10. This has made it very difficult to meet my obligations. I already have financial struggles and want very badly to start taking care of them. To make matters worse I owe him just under 3K and have to make payments of $500 a month to him which he deducts straight from my checks. This is the time of year when our work slows way down and stays slow until March. So far this month I have only had 17 hours of shop work and no events at all. We do a few gigs coming up but they will not cover the bills this month. I need a new job so I can get out of the audio world but this area is saturated with people wanting jobs and so it is hard for a 45 year old man with baggage to compete with young people willing to work for peanuts.

I am not sure if this is really what should be posted here but I just had to vent a little - today I had to deal with him cussing at me because I was taking to long to change the oil in the truck.

Sorry if I am off topic.
