I am not saying anything about the booze itself, just the bars. I mean, most people drive to the bar, get drunk, and then drive home. Sorta just makes sense that shutting them all down would drastically cut down on DWI accidents.

I never have more than one drink when I'm outside my house unless I have a DD (which is rare). Not that I drink ofter anyway. I don't know how practical really shutting down bars would be, but from a personal standpoint the line of thought can keep you out of trouble.

Anyone else wondering if we should have called this thread "How's your Brew?" this week?:happy102

    So...

Just to make it clear.. you must maintain possession of the ball all the way through the process of going to the ground even if it is a touchdown and you want to lay the ball on the ground while getting up....

    C'mon refs!

It will be an interesting game coming up... I have the Raven's defense on my fantasy team. Wife has the Jet's defense on her team.

I have already lost my game for the week (unless the defense scores 4 or more touchdowns) and she has already won her game. But it will still make for an interesting game to watch.

    Well, guys...

I put in some ridiculous hours this Summer, and thankfully, the powers that be decided it was better to buy some of my missed vacation time and comp me a little time than it was to have me miss 20 days in a row. :happy102 So my next check is going to be pretty fat, and I just got a new super-low interest rate credit card that needed breaking in. Now those that know me, know I'm usually dead-set against using the credit card any more than I have to, but sometimes you've just got to treat yourself. So, I bought the Aluratek Libre Pro at Kmart for $129. I know, I know, I could have ordered it from Borders for 30 bucks less, but dangit, I'm going out of town this weekend, and I wanted to be sure I had it in hand before Friday. I've been plinking around with it for the last 30 minutes or so, and I've got to say, I'm pretty impressed. The reflective monochrome LCD looks as good or better than any eInk screen I've had opportunity to play around with, and the 100 books that come pre-loaded on it includes a great many books I was planning to download, anyway. It also has a feature where you can play mp3's while you read your book, or you can listen to audiobooks on it. I've always been a pretty big fan of LibriVox, so this should be a nice feature to use, once in a while, though I'll probably use my much smaller MP3 player for that, most of the time.

Of course, it still has lots of "new" on it, and I haven't really had a chance to really use it, but I think I'm going to like it very much.

    I'm pleased.:D

I doubt it. But, it's sooo easy to transfer stuff over to this thing. It plugs up via USB and shows up like another drive, or you can just drop stuff on an SD card and drop it in the device. It's pretty slick and intuitive. I researched the ever loving heck out of these things before I decided on this one, and it really seems to fit my model of how a thing should work.

Did I mention it's powered by Linux?

ah. given my chosen vocation and my strained relationship with my higher ups, I have come to know this dynamic very well indeed.

Georgia had similar blue laws when I lived in the Atlanta area.

Hey it's better than talking about Jim's pen.

that's gotta smell. I am sooooo glad I don't live anywhere near Venice.

it's also gotta be a big draw for predators and disease.

yuck... brings back memories of hot summers and all the fish in ponds and creeks floating. Brings back a particular blech memory of the dead fish being loaded into a garbage truck and then to make room when it was full of fish the load was compacted and all the ooze coming out of the truck...

Oh wait... I hope that nobody was eating just now...
