yeah, same here...I've been trying to think of the most random thing possible, but just having a mental block for whatever reason...maybe a tape player? or better yet, 8-track player?

I've got an 8-track deck that might be up for the publicity. You could always start one for the following items:

    The much neglected Sheeptalkingman blog.
    Your belly button lint.
The third magazine in a rack--I can picture it now, it'd always be complaining about how people always choose the magazine in front of it.
That jar of stuff in the back of the refrigerator that's been there so long everyone has forgotten what it is.
    The stray sock.
    4th gear.
A butter knife--because really, does anybody use those anymore?
If you wanted to go really meta you could always do "My friend's resistance to join Facebook" Though, I'm not sure how you'd go about personifying a concept like that.

ahhh yes! 4th gear! that would be perfect ...if I still had vehicle with a manual shift....

but imagine the daily updates: "Yes! we got on the highway today, driver had the jam the stick in me!"
"so sad, took the backroads all the way to town, never got out of third, no action today"

As this week continues to unfold I definitely want to hit the CTRL>ALT>DELETE button.
Our only running car decided to become critically ill, by not having any compression in two cylinders. I have decided that due to its advance age that rebuilding the engine is not an option.
We are now faced with needing a vehicle replacement, we do not have the resources to do so.

On a positive note, I did have exceptionally great shave. I really enjoyed the Shark blade.

Good deal on the Shark's..but I am hesitant to accept the no rebuild option...have the cylinders been bored beyond spec? Are there no parts available? (hard to comprehend) Is the block cracked? has the block been mag-fluxed to verify internal damage? What kind of vehicle are we talking about?

Noticed our phone and internet bill went a bit high after we were forced to switch to frontier.com when Verizon sold our service. Well, this is because our bundle with wireless phone and DirecTV can't exist anymore. So we call to see what can be done and find out that we are paying on 7mps DSL speed. spent the last two days doing speed tests. Yeah... we may be paying for 7mps; however, we get an actual 1/2 mps. ugh...

    :D

pretty much you can just do a search for "internet speed test", and you'll get lots of results.

one thing to remember though, is the speed you're paying for is usually the "up to XX Mbps", not a guaranteed number, you'll usually end up lower than the listed number, although I have tested before and been higher, but that's very rare. I'm usually about .5 Mbps below what I'm paying for, but given my distance from the CO, that's acceptable to me, particularly knowing how it all works. But if you're consistently getting that low of a speed, stay on the company until they A) reduce your plan, and hopefully a refund, or B) fix whatever problem is keeping you from getting the speed you're supposed to get.

    stay on top of it

yup there are a lot of sites to check speed.

Part of the problem, is when you call Frontier.. they are overwhelmed with taking over several states of internet customers at once from Verizon. In fact when we called two days ago, their computers were all down.. (bad sign from the ISP)...

Their website is a shambles, it has been 3 months since the switch over and partof the website is Frontier, part is Verizon, and part is some interim site. None of them communicate with each other and they all use their own unique account names and passwords. They are all slow and very tedious. I just managed to get into my internet plan and they didn't put us on the correct plan. So we are actually getting the pathetic slow speed that they are charging us for. So I just resubmitted the work orders to get things straightened out.

ahh, that's good to know then (the part about the plan being what you're actually paying for)
as for getting the right thing, remember:
