This is probably either vaporware or some sort of scam, but if this thing is real---I want one in the worst kind of way. I'd drop a hundred on it right now if it were available, and it worked as advertised. I'm totally digging on the black model, but the white would be more useful, probably. Now, if only they made it in yellow...

"want"'s got nothing to do with it, "big mean bully medical bills" does; but yeah, that was my first thought :happy102

Why? Why do I let myself get drawn into arguments with irrational idiots on the internet?

I really should know better. I'm 34 for cripe's sake.

Okay gang, I think we've found the official Distraction Valentine:

Props go to TWGW who spotted this gem on the intertubes.

Well... the Packers won.. but I will admit, they should have lost.

Oh well.. will see if they can do well when football returns in 2013.

well, they played better, and got the benefit of no-calls while the Steelers racked up countless phantom penalties....

but still, classic example of "the team that played best won, while the best team lost".

oh well, at least I can tolerate the Packers; if it hadn't been the Steelers they played against, I probably would have pulled for them.

Mr. T in an infomercial... I can handle this.
Mr. T in an infomercial wearing a golf shirt?

    I don't think I'm ready for this.

Hey.... ummm... I don't have any golf shirts... oh wait maybe I do... but I don't recall doing any informercials...

oh wait... you meant a different Mr. T. I get so confused sometimes....

    Morning everyone!

Going to have to get back into an exercise routine and cut back on caffeine.. BP has been too high.. not high, but right next to it (135 over 95 ). My knee is still having bad days and there is snow and ice everywhere. So excuse me if I get crabby in the next few months...

    How's Your Day? Feb 7 - Feb 13

Writing this quickly in the morning as I didn't get a chance last night. Not much going on. How's your day?

Took the day off work. Was supposed to be out of town this weekend for my wife's uncle's 90th birthday, but the weather kind of screwed that up. I figured since I had already scheduled the day off, and it's a teacher workday--that most of the teachers won't be there for--might as well enjoy myself. I had the day to spare anyway.

Well, it's time to finally find replacements for all the gawker sites. Gizmodo and lifehacker unveiled their "new and improved" layouts today. Ugh...

Okay, so let's see, I can swap engadget for gizmodo---not too bad. I have yet to find a suitable replacement for io9--I guess I can hang out at reddit.com/r/sci-fi for a while---though reddit is collapsing under it's own weight these days.

Now for lifehacker: Well crap, there's really not anything like lifehacker.

This is the internet's way of forcing me to get off the web and do my job, isn't it?

yeup, noticed that this morning, first thought....ugh.

Oh well, guess I'll try to get used to it. I guess I'll more frequently vist Engadget and the Crunch... sites, but you're right, nothing quite can replace Lifehacker.

But, I am finding LH's "Blog view" tolerable

crunchgear isn't too bad-- combine it with engadget and gizchina and you've got a pretty good set of replacements for gizmodo. Now, there's a lifehack subreddit, but it just isn't the same... Maybe hackaday... freewaregenius is pretty neat.

I think I just found the/a solution: Google Reader. Add a subscription to lifehacker.com...I think I can get used to this...maybe

I saw that mentioned in the comments on one of the sites, but I don't know... enough of my eggs are already in the google-basket.

Hmm, haven't seen that mentioned yet. I actually added it to GReader several weeks ago when I put GReader on my phone, but really haven't used it much.

As much as I'm against "all the eggs in one basket" approach, I'm starting to lean towards at least putting all my frequented web sites into GRdr (save for TSD, of course :D)

    ...especially if Lowe's works out....

It still isn't right--the commenting sucks, the layout is all wrong--slow loading. Someone should submit the gawker decision makers' brains to thisisbroken.com

yup... lots of new sucky websites unrolled in the last week...

thankfully, I can still get access to classic.wunderground

BTW: Tom Petty was great on the Super Bowl Halftime Show when it was his turn.. Black Eyed Peas were awful. I never would have called that one...

Okay, well it looks like they've figured out that people hate the sidebar layout, and they're posting a general day in review sort of post in the main frame (at least on lifehacker)... I can learn to live with the new layout, I guess, but I still hate the way commenting "works" on it.
